Summary: Since my first 'digital' camera, I have owned 6 other small digital cameras. I have paid as much as 4 times the price of my Panasonic Lumix for one camera. I paid less than $100.00 for the Lumix and it is by far the BEST digital camera I've owned. I would give more than 5 stars for 'value for money if I could! Great Ebay price..
Summary: Absolutely love this camera - bought it as a backup for my other, which is the exact same one. Great pictures, easy to use, lightweight. Would highly recommend, especially for a novice. However, you might want to note that it does not take abuse well; the shutter will stick if you try and use it in the rain. I would also strongly recommend buying the plug-in car charger. The bottom line is I like the camera so much that I have two.
Excellent picture quality with lots of pro features.

Summary: I thought I'd post this as a counter-balance to the negative reviews that trash the camera based strictly for battery issues.
Pros: Great zoom with real wide-angle. Even greatly enlarged pictures show very little pixelation. Offers lots of manual and semi-auto shooting modes for photo geeks. Easy-to-use. Scene modes work well. Excellent build quality with most metal body.
Cons: LCD display could be brighter in sunlight. A little slow shot-to-shot. Flash could be a little brighter.
Summary: best point and shoot ever owned! I've owned many camaras this is the absolute best one ever. I also owned many Slrs , this camara does a great job on shutter speed and action (sports) photography.
Great performance for the price. Excellent value for money!

Summary: I am completely satisfied with this camera - the menus are intuitive, the startup speed is pretty good, the battery is good, and the pictures it takes are great. The intelligent auto works great if you're too lazy to adjust the settings, but it gives you lots of opportunity to make manual adjustments if you want. I'd gladly recommend it.
Easy to learn and use, great vids & pics! Just love it, 5 stars all the way

Summary: I give this camera a 5 star for the following reasons: Easy to use and understand and takes great photos and videos. I am not even a camera buff and this was my first digital camera, all I did to learn it was start playing with it and clicking buttons for about an hour and it was ready to go. Some indoor photos might need to be manually controlled to get them just right but the Intelligent feature gets it right to my complete satisfaction about 95% of the time.
Summary: I am thoroughly happy with my purchase as of yet. An old friend of mine had one of these so I was anxious to see how it would compare and my worries were calmed pretty quickly. It didn't come with the computer connector cords which was kind of upsetting, but the deal on it was well worth the lack of cord. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase.
Summary: A very nice price after reviewing the s8 and s10. If you're looking for a top notch camera, I would definitely recommend the s10 for the faster processor and pictures taken. As for quality, those two are about the same. If you just wish a nice point and shoot, this would be a good model for you.
