The Lumix DMC-ZS5 is a 12.1 million megapixel digital camera that supports image output up to 4000 x 3000 resolution. It also supports up to 16:9 aspect ratio via 1/2.33 inch CCD sensor, up to 1600 ISO sensitivity a lens with 4x digital zoom, 25 mm (W)/300 mm (Tele) focal length, TTL autofocus, F3.3 - F4.9 aperture range, 60-1/1300 seconds shutter speed, built-in flash with a range of 5.3 m, red-eye reduction, and -2 to +2 EV in 1/3 EV steps exposure compensation. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS5 also supports movie clip recording at 2.3 frames per second (continuous drive) or up to 30 frames per second (at 1280 x 720), 40 MB internal flash drive (with expandability via SD/SDHC/SDXC card). It also has a 2.7 inch LCD display with up to 230 000 K color supports, USB 2.0 (with 480 Mbit/seconds transfer rate) interface, and is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. The DMC-zS5 measures 103 x 60 x 32 mm (4.1 x 2.4 x 1.3 in) and weighs 214 g (7.5 oz).

Features

The Panasonic LUMIX ZS5 features Sonic Speed AF (Auto Focus), which enables a fast response time, and a shutter release time lag as short as approximately 0.006 second. This allows users to capture sudden, spur-of-the-moment photo opportunities and together with the Sonic Speed AF that lets users lock on the subject minimum in approximately 0.35 second (wide-end) / 0.41 second (tele-end). The LUMIX ZS5 also features a short startup time of approximately 1.1 second, Intelligent Resolution processing technology which is incorporated in its Venus Engine HD that optimizes any degradation created during the digital zoom process or in high-sensitivity shooting; Intelligent Zoom feature which extends the camera’s zoom ratio by approximately 1.3x while maintaining the picture quality; manual control features which allows for adjustments in shutter speed, aperture and exposure; iA (Intelligent Auto) mode which incorporates POWER O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) and doubles the repression power; Face Recognition for up to 15 faces; Intelligent Scene Selector which automatically selects whichever of 6 Scene Modes – Macro, Portrait, Scenery, Night Portrait, Night Scenery and Sunset; AF Tracking, Intelligent ISO Control and Intelligent Exposure; iA in video mode that automatically switches between Normal, Portrait, Macro, Scenery, and Low Light modes according to the shooting environment; Happy Mode which optimizes color, saturation and brightness to make both photo and video more vivid and true to the color the users remember when they took it; High Dynamic that lets users capture a scene with moderate exposure, even though the scene contains both bright and dark area together. The user can select one of three options, Standard, Art, or B/W, depending on the desired effect and personal taste to make the photo look natural to artistic; and Video Divide which lets users divide video into two sections to shorten or delete the unwanted clips directly on the camera. A still image from a video can also be grabbed and saved within the menus on the camera.
