Excerpt: Very disappointed to find out that when I shoot video, the camera records a loud whirring sound. Unusable footage. Also, if you wear polarized lenses, you cannot see the screen when the camera is held vertically. After much research I bought a special screen protector that corrected this problem, since I need to wear my polarized sunglasses when shooting outdoors.
Summary: We returned this camera! The entire camera menu and manual were written in Japanese! The details said "Japan Import" which to me meant made in Japan; it didI not mean written in Japanese! The camera may work perfectly, but unless you can read Japanese do not buy it!

Summary: This camera lasted for 3 months before it froze. Then Panasonic made us pay to send it back to them and ignored our request by enclosed letter to have it returned in time for our vacation 1 month later. We had included the original receipt with the camera and they still requested another copy of the receipt. The letter was ignored and when we called to ask for the return time they said they had no time frame for repair and it couldn't be rushed.
Summary: Do not buy this camera. It only has Japanese as the available language which is not mentioned in the Amazon description. I am attempting to return it with great difficulty from the Japanese supplier. It should be removed from the cameras on the site here, I have spent several hours trying to figure out how to use certain features even with the downloaded Panasonic manual in English. My only bad experience with Amazon ever. Hopefully they will help me through this.
