Excerpt: Ours dies after only 2 years of light use. We sent it to Panasonic and we were told that they don't fix them they just offer a replacement for almost the cost of buying a new one. We decide to replace it with the COOLPIX AW120 Waterproof Digital Camera . We are finished with Panasonic. I'm a pro photographer but purchased this as my vacation camera. I didn't expect the most amazing pictures. I just wanted to to work.
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast/accurate auto-focus, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Great Zoom, Nice Body Color, Short Lag Time, Small / Compact
Summary: I bought this camera to take to the beach so I could keep it with me while I swim. It's not listed online but this camera can only be in the water for 60 minutes at a time. So you can't keep it with you all day. Not happy about having to pay to send it back I since this wasn't included in the description online or I wouldn't have purchased it.
Excerpt: After doing a great deal of research I chose this Panasonic DMC-TS5. My primary interest was with underwater pictures. After taking 5 shots the camera died. I was on a month long vacation on the Mexican Caribbean with no underwater camera! To add insult to injury Panasonic was going to make me pay for shipping the camera to them! What a joke, I only had it for 5 weeks. It took up a good 3 hours of my time dealing with them.
Summary: I bought this specifically for snorkeling and underwater use...it died after 5 photos. The quality was those 5 photos was poor. I am very upset as I was on a month vacation and missed the photos of a lifetime!! I saw 4 lesser models with better quality photos , some were 7 years old and still working.
Summary: I have not, as far as I can remember, ever written an Amazon review. The failure of this camera has prompted me to do so. That alone should tell you something. First, be forewarned that movies take with the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS5 are split up into multiple files in multiple folders on the memory chip.
Excerpt: I have purchased 6 of these cameras or at least the prior generations for the last 3 years for work. Overall the cameras have held up ok. Slow response time. Used one of them underwater in the BVIs this summer 2 times and it died. One unit keeps showing a battery problem when they work fine in other cameras. I can get by all of that as we take a lot of photos for our business. What I can't get past is poor customer support.
Pros: Easy To Use, Good Image Quality, Nice Body Color
Summary: Got dust on the sensor in a couple of months, for a water proof and dust proof unit was disappointed. I buy two of these cameras for work every 1-2 years I sent this in for service 3 weeks ago and Panasonic was going to call me back and never did, also they had no idea when I would get it or the status of the unit. The image quality is ok, slow at time to capture the image, poor low light capability.
Summary: I bought this camera for my brother who was going to a beach resort on his honeymoon. After just the first day of water use the camera got a few water droplets inside the lens and screen. It seems to have a leak somewhere near the lens because when you shake it water comes out the side of it. Sadly he's not just out of a camera but also of pictures of his honeymoon... Do not buy this product!
