Camera Died after only 2 years!

Jeff K, B&H Photo

  • Excerpt: Ours dies after only 2 years of light use. We sent it to Panasonic and we were told that they don't fix them they just offer a replacement for almost the cost of buying a new one. We decide to replace it with the COOLPIX AW120 Waterproof Digital Camera . We are finished with Panasonic. I'm a pro photographer but purchased this as my vacation camera. I didn't expect the most amazing pictures. I just wanted to to work.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Fast/accurate auto-focus, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Great Zoom, Nice Body Color, Short Lag Time, Small / Compact

Great Vacation Camera

  • Excerpt: Bought this for a Mexico vacation and it worked great everywhere we used it and in all conditions. Using it in the water was the most fun. I am not a technical person, so I only read the under water usage instructions, and was still able to use the camera without any problems. Very good for a person like me, but I am sure there are many more features that I haven't even used.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Fast/accurate auto-focus, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Large Clear LCD

Disappointing

  • Summary: Was very disappointed in the picture quality. I took 1000 pictures using all types of settings. A lot of pictures are blurry, even ones I rested the camera on solid surfaces. This is the first camera I've bought in 10 years and now I'm stuck with a so-so product. My old Kodak took pics just as good.

Great Bang for Buck

  • Excerpt: This camera worked great for what we needed it for on vacation in Alaska, being water proof to a degree we didn't have to worry as much about the handling of the camera and for the purchase price you can't really ask for more quality. The WiFi connections feature is pretty awesome and easy to use as well, a nice touch indeed!
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Fast/accurate auto-focus, Good Image Quality, Good in Low Light
  • Cons: Short Battery Life

Excellent Durable Camera

  • Excerpt: I've had this Camera for about a month now. It is not the best point and shoot camera for the money, but it IS the best point and shoot that can operate underwater. I've taken it tubing down the river in my pocket and boating on a lake also. It was pretty much in the water the whole time tubing and it worked flawlessly still taking excellent picture. I like than I can quickly and easily transfer photos wirelessly to my phone without being on a network.
  • Pros: Amazing Video Quality, Durable, Easy To Use, Fast/accurate auto-focus, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, Large Clear LCD, Nice Body Color, Small / Compact

Works Great

Donaldt, B&H Photo
30 July 2014
  • Excerpt: Just purchased this in June 2014 & took on a cruise in July. We used it in a pool, caverns & ocean daily for a week. We had no trouble at all with any leaks. I make sure I wipe the seal on the door & camera side before closing after each battery charge. We used it for snorkeling, so the camera was taken no more than 10' deep - far less than the 43' rating. I turned off GPS to save battery, but I think a spare is still necessary, so I would get one (or two).
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Fast/accurate auto-focus, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, Large Clear LCD, Short Lag Time, Small / Compact
  • Cons: Limited Zoom, Short Battery Life

Good little camera

  • Excerpt: I bought this camera after first buying the Olympus TG-850 and being incredibly disappointed by the image quality. The image quality on the Panasonic is a lot better - still not DSLR-like, but I wasn't expecting that. Things that have impressed me about the Panasonic so far are the burst shooting mode, and the clarity of underwater pictures. I'm also very satisfied with the 1080/60p video mode.

Awesome until you use it in the water

ejprosse, Panasonic
27 July 2014
  • Summary: Bought the camera pre-Hawaii. Snorkeled in less than 15' of water for no more than an hour at a time. Did not open the camera door unless I was back at the condo. I was extremely meticulous about making sure it was sealed and free of debris. I was more meticulous than the usual person would be. Worked for a while in the water then it started doing goofy stuff like the LCD blinking and while in movie mode, it was fluttery. Obviously that was from the water leaking in.
  • Pros: Compact, Easy to use, Convenient, great pictures
  • Cons: Did not meet expectations, leakd on first use
