Poor workmanship and worst customer service(Panasonic)
Early Riser "Early Riser", Amazon
Summary: This was the 3rd Lumix I had this year. The first was damaged in a fall so it was replaced by the insurance company. The replacement had such a shutter lag i missed most of my shots. I called Amazon and they replaced it with no problem. It seemed slow, but not as bad as the previous one. I took it in Oct (from purchasing in July of this year) on a Snorkel Trip. After the first 5 pictures it leaked, badly.
Summary: I bought this in July to take kayaking, both flat water and white water. I gotta say: I have beaten the crap out of this thing, and it's still going strong. It's definitely safe for water as long as you make sure it's closed properly. I always keep a float strap attached to it because I've dropped it in moving water more than once. the float strap is a life saver because the camera will sink. I've also dropped it on the hard ground more time than I can count.
Summary: Have had the camera for a week now and have used it just about anywhere. Have taken the camera to the pool, in the ocean and more. I love it. It works better then I thought it would and the images quality is very good for such a compact camera. If looking for a waterproof machine for everyday use I totally recommend it.
Summary: After a recent thru hike in Vermont where it rain constantly and I found myself having to return my camera to a dry sack, its going to be nice to be able to keep my camera close at hand despite the weather. The camera is easy to operate and the picture quality is very good.
Summary: The reason I like point and shoots is that you can whip the camera out of your pocket to your eye and get the shot when it happens. Not with this camera because a message appears about being careful if you are using it underwater. When you click the shutter another message appears saying something about Do you want to review how to use underwater? Then you have to slide a slider from YES to NO and press shutter again.
Summary: Bought this for a 10-year-old who loved it. He had one just like it but managed to lose it last September. This one will be a Christmas gift. Which it came with a clip to fasten the strap to a pocket.
