Summary: Mmy husband recieved the Panasonic TS20 Lumix for his birthday & took the camera on vacation. On day 2, the flash & lens both fogged up. There were no pictures taken under water. Since this was a brand new camera, we did not bring a back up. This is our first vacation in 5 years and with both of our daughters. This experience left us with no camera. We were very excited to have this camera and were very disappointed when it did not work.
Summary: I had this camera 8 months and took it on two trips involving underwater photography, a total of maybe a dozen times in the water. I followed all the instructions. It leaked and stopped working on the first day of the second trip. As others have noted, the manufacturer won't do a thing for you if it leaks.
Water leaked in 2nd time using it underwater - DON'T BUY!!

Summary: We purchased this camera last summer after reading many, many reviews. We took it to Cozumel last July 2012. We were very happy with the pictures and video this camera took while we were snorkeling. We used the camera out of the water for several months afterwards. We just took the camera back to Cozumel last month, and the first day we used it underwater, water leaked in. We were extremely upset that we do not have pictures from our last trip to Cozumel.
Summary: I purchased this camera for my father-in-law who lives in a different state. Within a few weeks he called to tell me the screen went dark and would not show images. Figuring he had changed a setting or pushed a button, I told him I would look at it next time I came to visit. Sure enough, it wasn't him and the camera had a defect. After searching the issue online I found numerous other people who experienced the same thing.
Summary: We bought this camera for our Puerto Rico trip last December. It worked fine, the underwater pictures weren't THAT great but they were good and I was happy with it. The battery died on the last leg of our island hopping tour and because I have another camera, I didn't bother charging this one. I rinsed and dried the camera as instructed and put it away. All along I thought I was in good condition until now that I am preparing for another trip.
Summary: Purchased this for a trip to the Galapagos. Followed all of the instructions, but unfortunately water leaked into the camera. I got a total of 5 shots before the camera leaked and stopped working. The memory card survived, but the camera's electronics were fried. The shots that I did get looked similar to those that you'd get with a $10 disposable waterproof camera. Its crazy that this model is called "tough" and "waterproof.
Summary: My brand-new Lumix took 200 photos in an hour of snorkeling in the ocean, and then it died permanently like quite a few of the other reviewers' Lumixes. I figure that's a little less than $1 a photo, which would have been a normal price in the old film-camera days (it also cost around $3 for Costco's service to rescue the photos from the card). Is it under warantee? Other reviewers don't hold out much hope -- anyway it will be too late for this trip.
Summary: 2 days snorkeling on the great barrier reef, it fogged up inside and ultimately would not turn on until well-dried. The manufacturer also doesn't exactly advertise that it has a recommended time limit of an hour underwater. When it worked, it was OK. It could use a better sensor with fewer megapixels. But, who cares? It is just not waterproof. What's the point? If you can rent an underwater camera, do so. If you need one often enough, this is not it.
Summary: Bought this camera as replacement for Canon D10 which went around the world above and underwater, 1000's of pics and lots of abuse. Just wanted to try a less bulky camera, more mega pix. My enthusiasm lasted a few weeks. After using camera underwater the first time, battery and sd card were wet, camera went on/off by itself and then quit for good.
Summary: Do not buy this camera unless you are running Windows 7 on your computer. I Purchased one about a month ago and when it arrived I tried to upload the software on to my home computer but kept getting a "not compatible with this OS" message. I was running Windows Vista, and despite what it says in the owners manual, it is not compatible with Vista. I called tech support and got a case number and a promise of a call back, but none came.
