Summary: Mine was purchased as a IR conversion P&S camera. As such, the image quality isn't too bad. I don't see blowing the images up to large prints but as an 11x14 they look very good. The IR files are not noisy and have good detail in them. Very happy for what I paid for it. I keep it in my pocket while shooting my DSLR and pull it out for the occasional IR shot.
Summary: Was a great camera, then it died after 9 months. The lens will not go in or out and it happened randomly, not under any kind of unusual or extreme conditions, and the camera had not been particularly heavily used. Despite being within the 12month warranty repeated attempts to contact Panasonic in order to get it fixed/replaced failed - i never got a single response, and then it fell out of warranty period and i gave up and got a replacement.
Summary: I have many digital cameras. Most have far more features than my SZ7 and produce somewhat better shots. BUT I use this little camera for 90% of my picture taking. For me the size and ease of use trumps all the Bridge and 4/3rd. cameras I have hands down. The video is darn good too. I liken it to my tiny old flip phone compared to my wife's fancy BIG and HEAVY smartphone. My flip phone fits in my pocket easily just like the SZ7 does.
Summary: It should be said that I have owned three Panasonic Lumix cameras and this is by far the best of the lot. The high-def videos are incredible, the photos I take are wonderful and the features on the camera...well, I'll never use them all. Lightweight with a big display, I like being able to shoot a video and take a snapshot as the video is filming. I take it everywhere. I searched for this particular model based in a review I read somewhere and they were right.
Summary: I have owned this camera for about a year and a half. I expected it to last longer but the LCD display has suddenly turned dark making the camera unusable. Panasonic says send it in to their repair shop in Texas. I guess I expected a better quality camera when I purchased this item. In fact, I thought it was manufactured in Japan but when I received it I was disappointed to see it was made in China.
Not as good as my old camera. Low light picture quality is terrible.

Summary: I am very disappointed with the picture quality. I owned Panasonic before and was very happy with it. It look great pictures both outside in full light as well as indoors. This camera's picture quality outside on a sunny day is very good but low light and indoors pictures are terrible. I tried different settings but with no success. The only good thing about the camera is that it is small and great for travel. But that does not make up for the poor picture quality.
Summary: I love the pictures it takes. I had one Lumix SZ7, and it developed spots -- from other reviews, I gather this is typical. I gave up on my first Lumix and bought a second one. This one I protected diligently so no dust would get into the camera and on to the sensor. Alas, six months later and every picture is ruined. I can edit them out with Photoshop, but that is time consuming. In short, the SZ7 is the last Lumix I will ever buy, despite the good pictures.
