Good quality with one fatal flaw - a lens cover that doesn't close

Summary: Some other reviewers have mentioned this as well. This camera is the only camera I've owned whose lens cover does not close fully. And this leads to the biggest problem which is dust accumulating inside the lens - dust that is not removable by easy means. When this happened to me last year, I contacted Panasonic, and they let me exchange my camera for another refurbished one of the same model.
Summary: This is the last Panasonic I will be buying. I had a Lumix before this one, it was OK and after 2 years its zoom function broke. Loving the color and because I was used to the interface (it must have been) I bought this one. The picture quality is never right. I am not an expert, but I am reasonably proficient with gadgets… I should be able to produce good shots with a digital camera that has an automatic function.
Summary: I wanted a camera that I could carry in my purse so that I am never in the "I wish I had my camera" situation. Although this camera is small and light weight and fits in my handbag, I am unhappy with the picture quality. Believe it or not, in many cases I can actually get better pictures with my Ipad mini so that's saying a LOT. I cannot recommend this camera.
Summary: I bought this camera based on reviews by other purchasers. However, I have found that the images are lacking in sharpness and contrast. Especially compared to the Sony camera (DSC-W530). It's low light capability is not as good as the Sony's mainly because the minimum f-stop is 3.1, while the Sony is 2.7. The camera is easy to use and the optical zoom is a nice feature, but for me, it all comes down to image sharpness.
Summary: I found it confusing. I'll agree that I'm an amateur, but help or instructions seemed to be for people that already have the information. It also seemed a little too small for me. Just didn't find enough positives for me to try and figure it out.
Camera is brilliant until it stops working after just 18 months

Summary: Can't fault the camera for ease of use, quality of results. It stopped reading SD cards after 18 months of light use. I was quoted £54 to fix it - half the cost of a new one! Disappointing & not so "panasonic" after all.
