Summary: Camera ordered in Oct 2013, used 3 times during over the holidays before it broke. Because it was longer than 30 days before it broke, Amazon advised me to go through the manufacturer for the repairs. Followed the manufacturers instructions and sent camera to repair center in January 2014. Today is May 9th, and the camera is still not returned to me. Because the camera needed to pass through so many hands, everyone is denying responsibility for the product.
Summary: I ordered this camera to replace one that I had ordered a few months ago, but had a lens problem when dropped in the sand. The one I received this time was an older model than the last one, had missing parts and might have been used before. Big disappointment. I returned it and the only positive thing I can say is that Amazon truly makes returns easy. Will buy from Amazon always, but probably not this camera model again.
Summary: this camera broke after 2 months, lens error, I returned it under full warranty in august 2013, since then it has gone back three times. I sent in a DMC-SZ1 and they keep sending me a DMC-SZ3, when I talk to the service center I am assured there is no problem sending me the camera I purchased. The replacement unit they sent is also only refurbished with a 90 day warranty. I am trying one more time then am done forever with Panasonic, pathetic!
Summary: I've always wanted a camera so I started looking for something not too expensive or complicated, lightweight, and of good quality. I found all of that in this lovely camera. I've had it for almost a year now, and it has not once disappointed me. The pictures are all clear and once in a while I get a picture that looks like a professional took it. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Summary: Zoom lens failed after 6 months and only the second time I used it. Returned to panasonic in July for repair/replacement. Since I live in the same city as their repair center, I hand delivered it directly to the center. I had to wait over 2 hours because no one there knew how to accept a device that wasn't shipped to the center. I didn't receive a replacement until October!!!!! They replaced it with a different model that was also broken.
