Panasonic has a winner with this camera

Topgun "RP", Amazon
11 September 2010
  • Summary: This review is really not going to say anything that has not already been said about this camera - Panasonic has scored with this line with siblings of the ZS3 now in the market. My wife and I have clicked some fantastic shots with this camera, it has an excellent processor, no shutter delay, fast write speeds to the SD card, neat features, amazingly easy to use, well calibrated zoom control, huge LCD screen, excellent battery life, well balanced for one hand use even...

A great little camera

J. Meuskens "art lover", Amazon
23 April 2010
  • Summary: Although this camera is somewhat dated, I decided to get it on the strength of previous reviews. It takes great pictures and a plus for me is the ergodynamics which allow me to hold it firmly in spite of having rather large hands. It fires up pretty quickly and the LCD is clear, even on a bright day. It has a nice range of options and the different settings are quickly adjusted.

I agree with the other reviewer

  • Summary: YOu can't go wrong with this model Lumix, or any of them that have the Leica lens. The LZ8 has taken some of the best pictures I have - most as good as my TZ4 Panasonic.

Better than the newer, more expensive models

S. Reilly, Amazon
1 February 2010
  • Summary: Bought this camera to replace an older Panasonic model. The actual resolution is better than that of the newer, more expensive models (read more megapixels & zoom) which seem to have added noise (graininess). Would recommend this model for a small, light point and shoot. Shutter lag is not bad if you use a good brand class 6 SDHC card. The read and write speeds of lower (2 & 4) class and plain SD cards is just not sufficient for high megapixel cameras.

no expert, but...

Chris Musso "online shopper only!", Amazon
17 January 2010
  • Summary: As the title states I'm no expert with digital cameras. I've owned 2 in my life, both point and shoot. This camera takes great pictures, and the features are fantastic! I love the image stabilization feature. Helps a great deal, especially in the cold winter and being outside at times. The battery life is above average but not amazing. Low light pictures are great and there is not much pixelization. My only issue is that the time between pictures seems very long.

Great camera!

Maestro, Amazon
24 November 2009
  • Summary: This camera is a great adjunct to my Nikon DSLR. In fact, I think I use it more since I can put it in a bag for easy portability. It is easy to use. The picture quality is very good with the Leica lens. I compared many small cameras and read many reviews and spoke with many people, including a couple of professional photographers who's spouses have the Lumix. The photographers were very impressed. Go buy it, you'll love it!

AWESOME!!!

Tracey Donathen, Amazon
30 October 2009
  • Summary: I'm glad i bought this digital camera and i went on reviews. It takes very nice pictures and has alot of options. Very light weight and easy to carry around. I was kinda nervous about buying such a cheap camera because i thought i was going to get what i paid for and so far so good. Really like it. I would recommend this digital camera to anyone that's looking for an inexpensive camera. It was well worth the price and more!!!!

Good photos, easy to handle

apophenier "Ken", Amazon
6 September 2009
  • Summary: A very good camera at a very good price. Pros: This larger-than-average compact camera works well in my larger-than-average hands. The grip and controls are well-spaced for me, and big enough to feel and see in low light or without my glasses. The controls are easy and quick to use. "IA" mode works very well, and I usually use it. Battery life is good. Almost wide-angle: Field of view is noticeably wider than the average budget compact camera, as is the zoom range.

Great Camera for the price

Tyler, Amazon
20 June 2009
  • Summary: This is a great camera for the price. You get plenty of options, manual control of aperture and shutter speed, and pictures of great quality. I've gotten equally good results taking pictures of close-up flowers, animals, and people. Here are some of my flower pictures [...] if you're interested. Keep in mind that I am an amateur, this was my first day with the camera, and I was exploring many of the options so these aren't perfect examples of the camera's capabilities.
