Panasonic LUMIX DMC-LZ7 7.2 MP Digital Camera - Best Point-and-Shoot Camera
9 April 2013
Summary: Great camera, and I'm not just saying that. Truly a great camera. I take A LOT of pictures, inside/outside, great light/bad light, you name it, and used to think Sony was the only way to go, but this is my second Panasonic Camera, and I will never switch back from Panasonic. This camera has a very nice mix of being a no-brainer "Easy Shot, Point-and-Shoot" while still giving you the option of having more control over your photography if you want it.
Excerpt: I received this camera as a Christmas present and could not be more pleased with it. I have dropped it several times in snow, water, on rocks, etc and it still works! There are chips on the casing, but it works very well still. It can zoom up to 36x, which is the most I have ever seen out of a $125 camera. The pictures it takes are excellent. I am using it for my photography class at university and it is perfect.
Excerpt: The Panasonic DMC-LZ7 is a GREAT camera. A few features that I think are most important is that it uses AA batteries--either rechargeables or single-use. That is MUCH cheaper than the lithium rectangular batteries that many of the compact cameras use. And the AA batteries, even rechargeables, last a long time--up to 200-300 shots, even using fill-in flash most of the time. Another feature is the 2.5" LCD screen.
Highest quality point and shoot for least amount of money!

Excerpt: I love my camera and love to sing its praises! My camera is a Panasonic DMC-LZ7. It is 7 megapixels. Megapixels are important when it comes to enlarging your photos. I have enlarged photos to 11x17 with my 5 megapixel version of this camera with amazing results. Many cameras now come standard 10 megapixels, yet I do not believe that is so important when you can get professional looking enlargements with even a 5 megapixel. Now to talk zoom.
It has a Leica lens and Leica spells Q-U-A-L-I-T-Y photos.

Excerpt: This camera was recommended to us by a friend who is a professional photographer. She uses a Panasonic with a Leica lens for everyday photos of her family, etc. Leica has been making lenses for more than 50 years and their commitment to quality is now extended to the lenses they make for Panasonic/Lumix. This is a digital camera and has 7.2 megapixels, but the photos come out looking as if they have 10.
Excerpt: Awesome camera. I did some research before choosing this one and I made the right choice. Very durable and comes with many features for the price. I love the zoom range! It takes awesome close-up shots and has different color options that can put unique spins on photos. I would definitely recommend this camera to anybody looking for quality at a low price.
Lumix DMC-LZ7 is a sleek, well designed and handy camera

Excerpt: This particular model of the Panasonic DMC-LZ7 was bought in August of 2007. Since then, it has been my regular camera and has traveled all across the country with me on my photo outings. The main purpose for buying this camera was to get a better camera that could actually take a photo of exactly what I tried to get a photo of. The old cameras I had did not seem to understand this little request, and many great photo opportunities were missed due to slow shutters.
Excerpt: I boght the DMC-LZ7 about a year ago near my last birthday. It has ISO for when you or the subject is moving, it can record a decent video. it can connect to the TV to share with friends and family. Has 36 scene selections from night scenery to food to soft skin. I have not even been able to master it with all of the time i have explored the camera.
Excellent picture quality, easy to hand hold, excellent value! I've ownd 3!

Summary: I have owned three of these camera's since it first came out in 2003. I have never been disappointed with it. The first one worked perfect for four years before the power switch knob finally broke off from me dropping it one too many times. Even then I could power it on and off using an ink pen to slide the switch mechanism over. I'm convinced it would work today if someone could replace the switch.
Summary: Camera is great for taking good , clear photos and does great video as well.I also like cameras that take AA rechargeable batteries and SD cards.I could take 2 batteries and one 4 GB SDHC card to one of my bands shows and shoot video of all 3 bands playing .Pretty good audio, although I'd suggest using a good mic or two ,and syncing video with it later, for concerts anyway. For home use audio on cam. is fine.I have two , and have used them for video more than anything .
