Summary: This camera takes fine photos, but be aware that it could have structural faults and/or be extra sensitive to humidity, and the company will not back their product up in the event it fails. I purchased the Lumix as a smaller, handheld alternative to my well-loved Nikon D60. (I sometimes take food photos in restaurants and needed a point-and-shoot that did well in low light). Initially, I was very pleased with the camera's performance.
Summary: Buyer Beware - do not buy this product. The display broke after 4 months of use. I sent it back to Panasonic, and they told me the warranty was void because it had a scratch on the bottom. 4 months of normal wear and tear. This product has very poor quality, and Panasonic has horrendous customer service. They charge a $45 diagnostic fee to look at a product which is supposedly still under warranty.
