Fabulous, does what I thought it would do!

krevass, Ebay
26 December 2013
  • Summary: For the size, this camera is great. Easy to pack on hikes, and easy to pull out and put away quickly! I would recommend this camera to anyone looking for something high quality to be used for everything. It only lacks some optical zoom, but I knew that going into it.

Great camera for backpacking

windknot, Viewpoints

  • Excerpt: I did a lot of research while looking for a new camera to replace my Canon SD1000 point-and-shoot, and because of the limitations of my camera needs - a lens capable of large, wide-angle shots, yet housed in a package small enough to take with me on backpacking trips into the mountains - and numerous favorable reviews, I decided on the Panasonic Lumix LX-3.

Epic Camera, Best Compact Enthusiast Ever Made

spiritearh, Viewpoints
9 September 2012
  • Excerpt: This camera totally destroyed the magapixel wars going on. While every other manufacter decided to increase their megapixels to sell their cameras panasonic took a step back , but actually a step forward in this regard. They realized that after a point megapixels matter litte. It was a misinformed public belief that the higher the megapixel the better the camera. This is simply not true!

[Panasonix LX3] High Quality Compact

wayster, Viewpoints
9 September 2012
  • Excerpt: I love this camera because of it's compact size, it's ability for manual settings and it's HD video recording capability. Although it's not extremely compact, it's definitely pocketable in your jacket or back pocket.  When considering the lens quality and ability for full manual settings, you really can't complain. I usually leave mine on the Aperture priority setting to take advantage of the F2.0 lens.

User Review

Chris - Netherlands, LetsGoDigital
22 November 2011
  • Excerpt: I am a semi-pro dSLR user, but I wanted an easy-to-carry compact camera next to it. The Panasonic LX3 is just the right camera for me. I still have the opportunity to change multiple settings and due to the Leica zoom lens the quality of the photos is just great. Recommendable!

  • Summary: Great little camera that can produce DSLR quality pictures in the right conditions. Some minor limitations but for the average user and/or hobbyist this can save you alot of money.
  • Pros: Lightweight, 2.0f, manual controls, RAW shooting, good range of shutter speeds, hot shoe, price.
  • Cons: High noise @ 600 ISO, zoom, flash unit is almost useless.
