great camera at a great price

Excerpt: I really love this camera. Right out of the box it takes great pictures. The controls are easy to use. I have been taking a lot of pictures of my grandchildren and the short shutter lag means that I don't miss anything. I also like the zoom feature. It has a 3x optical zoom that is accesable next to the shutter button. I have printed out several 8x10 pictures with no loss in quality. Overall I don't think you could find a better camera for near the price.
Summary: I was looking for a cheap point and shoot for taking pics for Ebay. I'm a camera noob and wanted a camera that could do what a point and shoot should. I wanted to take it out of the box and snap pics. I started witha Sony DSC S700. I was extremely dissapointed. That camera has no image stabilizer. Unless you have surgeons hands, don't bother. This Panasonic does have an image stabilizer. The quality of pics it takes beats the Sony's hands down.
Summary: This is the second DMC-LS75S I have purchased. I feel like you can't do better for your money. You can use a picture from this on your screen saver and the picture will still look great. And it has the fastest shutter speed I can find, so it's great for action shots.
Summary: For what this camera is, a point and shoot, it's very good. I bought it probably about 3 years ago now at Big Lots for very cheap mostly for ebay. It has held up very well, and recently just discovered it does more than I knew about in the past, which just gave it more cool points. Namely, a 60 second minimum shutter speed option. This is not listed in most reviews of this camera, and like I said before, I never knew it had it until recently.
Summary: After quite a bit of research, I purchased this camera for my wife for Mother's Day. Since I've waited five months to write this review, I can say that this camera has been used almost daily. It's small enough where it's always in her purse, ready for pictures whenever our 4 year old daughter is up to something worth capturing. She's used it indoors, outdoors, in darkness, at the beach, in bright sunlight, and photographing fireworks.
Summary: Bought this camera on a whim, but knew enough to make sure that I bought one with a great lens, because that's the most important part of a camera after all. The lens on this is made by Leika, who've been making very high quality versions of such items for ages. It's a doddle to operate, is nice and light in the hand and has a nice large preview/review screen to see what you're about to shoot, or you've taken just now.
Summary: This camera is small but has image stabilization and a 3X optical zoom has well as 7.2 megapixels of resolution. The back is almost all screen so you really see he image before you shoot. It is a best buy for the price and performance. With a 1 gig SD card the camera will shoot about 250 pics at the best resolution which is more than enough. It has a built in lens cover so you can put it in a purse or pocket without scratching the lens. I give it 5 stars.
