Summary: A truely great travel and street photo instrument
Pros: ease of operation / compact / quickness of focus / use with 20mm f1.7 II lens / great street photography tool / ability to take 3 pics of each scene +1/3 -1/3 and right on which allows picking the best while quickly eliminating the others / sharpness and contrast of pics.

Summary: Bought over 2 years ago and although it's been replaced since then by Panasonic's GX7, it's still a heck-of-a camera! I added the DMW-LVF2 evf which greatly improves performance when sun is at my back. I use it mainly for still photos which it excels at.
Summary: I bought this as a factory refurbish at a steep discount. I already own a GF2 and could not miss the opportunity to get the uprated model. The OS is more complex, although of the same logic, and the camera has many more operational features that require some study to become proficient with.
Summary: The GX1 is a great camera for the price. Paired with the 20mm Panasonic lens it's a small, lightweight M4/3 that will blow away most point and shoot cameras (except perhaps this Sony [ASIN:B0097CXFCC Sony DSC-RX1/B Cyber-shot Full-frame Digital Camera]] which is 10X the price.
