Great small camera that can be had cheaply

Ex Machina, Amazon
24 January 2015
  • Summary: Bought this used when my GX7 was in the shop and I was afraid the repairs wouldn't be done in time for shoots I had already scheduled. I chose this model because it's sensor, menu system, and physical interface would be similar to the GX7, providing a gentle learning curve, and after my GX7 was returned would service as a second camera.

Manufacturing defect.

laura, Amazon
12 January 2015
  • Summary: I loved this camera until the rear display began to delaminate. It appears others have had this problem too. After contacting Panasonic I was told that they would not offer any remedy. To me this is unacceptable that a camera maker is unwilling to stand behind their product dispite a known manufacturing defect. After 5 years of shooting Panasonic I will be buying Olympus MFT cameras in the future. Buyer beware.

  • Summary: Bought this Panasonic GX1 at a clearance price and it was value for the money at the time of purchase. As an upgrade to the Panasonic GF1, it was generally a improvement in almost all aspects. - better image quality especially at the higher ISO settings ( although not a huge jump ) - much improved touch sceen operation ( wished they went with capacitive though ) - handling improved slightly with the rubber grip ( but GF1 felt more robust like a tank ) - slightly...

Wonderful and Compact Camera!

Dennis R. Carter, Amazon
8 October 2014
  • Summary: Bought over 2 years ago and although it's been replaced since then by Panasonic's GX7, it's still a heck-of-a camera! I added the DMW-LVF2 evf which greatly improves performance when sun is at my back. I use it mainly for still photos which it excels at. It can also take more than adequate videos when called upon to do so. In short, I love it. I rarely use the bundled 14-42 zoom lens since purchasing the 14mm pancake lense.

Good micro 4/3 camera if you catch a sale.

Leo Martínez, Amazon
10 August 2014
  • Summary: I purchase mine in amazon warehouse for 200 dollars. I like this camera, it is light and fairly small and focus fast, deliver very good image quality, has a good amount of configurations and options but it has only a drawback for me and it is that you only can turn off the screen when you plug the external, uncomfortable and expensive view finder. Tuch screen is not that great in this camera but that is not a big deal for me.

Duncan Idaho "Gadget addict", Amazon

  • Summary: Only con I can think off is the EVF is a separate purchase at $169. Other than that, having this makes me rethink taking my DSLRs out when I am on personal shoots. I even bring it to professional shoots and use it for primes......

I would suggest to get the 45mm lense to get the full and wider angle compared to the 42mm lense.
