Summary: Bought over 2 years ago and although it's been replaced since then by Panasonic's GX7, it's still a heck-of-a camera! I added the DMW-LVF2 evf which greatly improves performance when sun is at my back. I use it mainly for still photos which it excels at. It can also take more than adequate videos when called upon to do so. In short, I love it. I rarely use the bundled 14-42 zoom lens since purchasing the 14mm pancake lense.
Summary: I purchase mine in amazon warehouse for 200 dollars. I like this camera, it is light and fairly small and focus fast, deliver very good image quality, has a good amount of configurations and options but it has only a drawback for me and it is that you only can turn off the screen when you plug the external, uncomfortable and expensive view finder. Tuch screen is not that great in this camera but that is not a big deal for me.
Summary: This was my worst experience with this camera. I bought this camera, because I was interested in mirrorless system, specifically micro4/3. After do some test and compare to Fujifilm X-E2 camera, I became very disappointed. Picture quality not accepted. Menu is a mess. Lens, Leica design not sharp, worst than my point and shot Sony DSC WX9 camera. Picture are very noisy, even at low ISO.
Love the camera but the LCD touch screen delaminated after 18 months careful use and Panasonic are not interested

Summary: There's a lot to love about this camera and many people have written more technically competent reviews than I could ever hope to achieve. I love the smaller m43 format and the image quality is excellent. I have produced some great images which have been sold as large prints, so other must think so too. The GX1 is easy to use and with the LVF-2 viewfinder in bright light is a super camera. Now, here's the rub.
Summary: I really miss the swiveling back (which my G3 has). I didn't realize it didn't have this until I had the camera! But I otherwise love the LCD viewfinder! I have resolved never to quint into a peep-hole again, and this camera doesn't waste space on one.
Summary: I bought this as a factory refurbish at a steep discount. I already own a GF2 and could not miss the opportunity to get the uprated model. The OS is more complex, although of the same logic, and the camera has many more operational features that require some study to become proficient with. So far the pictures have not disappointed. JPGs are good, and I have raw files to play with. I am committed to the 4/3 equipment due to it's small size and capable performance.
