Excerpt: I love the depth of features and options this camera offers! Great size and feel. My three critiques would be: 1. I would want a full 35mm equivalent sensor so it would eliminate crop factor. I know this would raise the price some, but that version would be amazing! 2. the swing out screen doesn't swing all the way out to be a perfect 180 deg. It rests slightly inward so if I have it mounted on a rig, I have to crain my neck slightly to view it square on. 3.
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast/accurate auto-focus, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Large Clear LCD, Nice Body Color, Short Lag Time, Small / Compact
Summary: I have had the GH4 for about a month. Great camera and loaded with features. The only issue that is a problem for me is the wired remote will not wake up the camera. I cannot think of a reason Panasonic would build it this way. The GX1 has the same "feature". I have attempted to contact customer service with no success. Nobody has an answer. Seems like a easy fix with a firmware upgrade. Maybe somebody with Panasonic will read this and respond.
Excerpt: I purchased this camera primarily for shooting company promotional videos. So far, it hasn't disappointed. The battery life is about twice that of my old Canon and even at 1080, the shots look great. This camera loves light. Going mirrorless was definitely the way to go. The electronic viewfinder is extremely clear and the fold-out touch screen makes focusing in manual mode extremely easy.
Pros: 4k Straight To Sd Card, Audio Level Meter, Easy To Use, Good Image Quality, Great Battery Life, Great touch screen, Horizontal Level, Large Clear LCD, Mixed Manual Mode, Small / Compact
Cons: Expensive Lens Format, Hot Audio, Low-level Could Be Better, White Balance Hard To Set
Excerpt: After carefully reading about micro four thirds cameras my choice was the Lumix GH4 for its myriad of features, 4K cinema video capabilities, and a camera that helps guide you through the complexities of filming. It is primarily a film camera and it accomplishes that task beautifully. This is a camera you use and love to have.
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast/accurate auto-focus, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, Large Clear LCD, Small / Compact
Excerpt: My first and immediate impression was that it doesn't look or feel like your typical dslr camera, but after a couple of weeks of playing around with it, I've grown to really appreciate the size and sturdy feel of the camera. I know most people may have second thoughts about the small sensor, but the 4k capability more than makes up for it, plus you have the option of picking up the metabones speedbooster, which really opens up the playing field.
Excerpt: Everything you've heard about this camera is true. The Panasonic GH4 is truly revolutionary in terms of professional video recording features packed into such an affordable and small package. I am a full-time freelance videographer, and like many others, I am in the process of moving away from using larger DSLR bodies and lenses in favor of a smaller, faster and more affordable mirror-less format. And to be honest, while 4K is great and really makes this camera...
Pros: Fast/accurate auto-focus, Fully Customizable, Good Image Quality, Great Battery Life, Internal 4k Video, Large Clear LCD, Lightweight, Small / Compact
Summary: This camera changes everything and slaps Canon and Nikon in the face when it comes to image quality and the 4k experience at this price point. I know everyone will say the 5Diii is a full frame sensor and this Panasonic is a micro 4/3, but whatever. I've had it for a month and have been able to take fantastic looking video from it (that rivals or betters 5Diii) and the still images from photos are great as well.
