Panasonic put a lock on the firmware: BUT IT HAS BEEN CRACKED

Summary: Like many others, I had read all the buzz on the web about the third-party firmware update created by "Tester 13" for this camera. The Tester 13 firmware code opens up new possibilities for independent filmmakers and video artists such as myself. For one, it allows the camera to output in its native 24p frame rate in 1920 x 1080 HD resolution instead of the 60i "wrapper" that makes areas of the exposure look like "mud".
Summary: Like many other folks, I received a unit with a defective lens mount. The lens twists back and forth by a substantial amount. I am returning my camera. Did a little testing while I had it. My background is as a cinematographer and coder of digital imaging software. First and foremost, the four thirds format with interchangeable lenses blows away all current video cameras, including those costing $5000.
