Summary: We bought this camera instead of a dslr since we wanted something light and simple to use. After 9 months of using I would say it takes great outdoor pics-pics of moving kids outside, scenic views. However last night I was trying to take pics of hula dancers on stage, it was indoors and I was 10 feet away from the stage, every single picture turned out blurry. I took about 30 shots, making every kind of mode adjustments - iA, flash, focus, etc.
Summary: Image quality is fair but let down by the screen. Not easy to see in bright light and it's easy to accidentally select another function. 14 mm kit lens is reasonably sharp but the 14-42 zoom could be longer. Overall a fair attempt but the screen is very much a weak point. Not as compact as you think as it still doesn't fit in a pocket.
Excerpt: The Panasonic GF2 is being billed as the smallest, lightest interchangeable lens system camera and has only recently been released. This camera comes under the umbrella of a micro four thirds camera - that is to say it's not a compact, bridge or SLR. It has interchangeable lenses like an SLR, but they are a different mount and the sensor onto which the image is recorded is smaller than an SLR but far bigger than a compact.
Pros: high image and movie quality, quite small
Cons: touch screen is a pain, not intuitive, very expensive, limited available accessories
