Summary: Probably the best online buy I've ever made. The camera does everything I'd ever want in a non-dslr camera and then some. Yes, there is some noise in low-light situations but, with a price under $250 including a 2 gig memory chip and a 35mm lens equivalent of 36mm-432mm, along with image stabilization and a Leica lens it's a winner all the way round. Best of all, it's lightweight!
Summary: 0) Value for money. (Important to me) 1) It is an excellent DSLR "LIKE" camera, but it is not a DSLR. So there is some noise at ISO 400 and above, expect this. 2) Very solid build quality and ergonomics is very good. 3) Nice list of features with superb 12x optical zoom. 4) Effective image stabilization (Mega OIS). 5) Bright, clear, high resolution LCD and excellent EVF. 6) Super useful Extended Zoom with no lose in image quality.
Summary: I just got this last week and the quality of the photos are excellent! The videos are really good as well! No complaints so far. This is perfect for point-and-shoot folks but then the camera features a whole a lot more if you want to get creative. Just be careful in buying SD cards larger than 2Gb, but just make sure the SD card has 'SDHC' stamped on it. I made the mistake of buying a regular 4Gb SD card and it did not work on the camera.
Summary: I have owned the Panasonic FZ7 for 1 year and was excited to purchase the FZ8. There are so many excellent qualities this camera offers. It is very simple to use for a beginner and offers features to suit a professional. The preview screen is a perfect size with its bright and vivid colors. Settings are easy to change,Including: shutter speed, aperture, time and date, changing the focus point, and many other awesome features!
Summary: My first impression of the Panasonic DMC-FZ8K was it is a small camera. After playing around with some of the features I was impressed with this camera. The FZ-8K takes fantastic pictures that are truly very sharp. What I'm most surprised with is the feature for close ups or macro. I was taking pictures of coins that were as good as my Canon D20. So small but packed with so many features that blows your mind.
Summary: I use a Sony A700 with "G" class professional lenses and use the Panasonic LX1 for quick shots. I gave this to my girlfriend in Tallinn to take pictures as she is not one for manuals and technical details but has a good "eye" for pictures. It is even more useful and versital than the LX1 and sometimes frustrates me as I am trying to change lenses (even with professional zooms) and she already has the images I wanted It is tiny and light compared to a DSLR but very easy...
Summary: We have been very happy with this camera. The picture quality is excellent even in zoom. It is very easy to use and not heavy (which was my only concern with it as I have a problem in my arms -- but I have no problem holding it and taking pictures for a long period!).
Summary: This camera is so easy to use. I have always not used a camera because I could not figure it out. My husband also loves it because he can do different things with it. So, it is good for both the inexperienced and experienced. You turn it on, put it to heart and shoot. To see the picture, you turn it to the green mark and there is your picture. It even tells you the lens cap is on.
Conclusion: This Camera is amazing. Although not considered an DSLR it most defiantly acts like one. With its amazing 12x zoom and 4x digital zoom with a super macro mode, you can get right in on a bird or flower. I got one this past Christmas and just out of the box you can start shooting pictures. The battery life is very good i got 425 pictures in on highest quality on new years. I would suggest a 4 gigabyte SD Extreme II card. The pictures are amazing.
Pros: The Ease of use. The Lcd screen has different modes for when in direct sunlight. Viewfinder,Flash works great and can be fine tuned depending on the lighting. It has many scene modes.long battery life, camera comes with a lot of attachments that most other companies do not.
