Summary: So many flaws that I dont even know where to start. But here's one you can try right now. Go to the top of this page (panasonic website) and click on Support. Search for Lumix DMC-FZ70. Got 28 pages of results of which the first 5 dont have this camera. Try again, search by device....click on that option..then pick digital point and shoot cameras from the menu.....you get everything including the kitchen sink but not this camera.
Cons: Did not meet expectations, Difficult to use, Poor quality, not supported, windows connection problems
Excerpt: I bought this camera as a backup for my Canon 60D when outdoors hiking and for adventures. I have an older model Panasonic and love it. I even use it for my underwater photography, so I was expecting a bit more after all of the hype. However, Panasonic didn't even get the basics right on this one. The only setting that gets clear, focused pictures right is the "AI" setting. None of the others can zoom and focus in a decent amount of time.
Excerpt: Panasonic provides this sophisticated camera with an incredible zoom range but, for some dumb reason, doesn't include provisions for a remote shutter release. Really? The designers and developers of this camera must, one, stay buried in their back rooms and, two, not be photographers. With the zoom cranked out to 60 power and the camera mounted on a tripod, a remote shutter release is a necessity! Oh well, perhaps someone else will do it right....? I hope.
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast/accurate auto-focus, Good Image Quality, Great Zoom, Short Lag Time, Small / Compact
Summary: I'm an amateur astronomer. I ordered two Lumix DMC FZ70B cameras from B&H on 2 Sep and they were delivered today, 9 Sep. I was very unpleasantly surprised and totally disgusted to discover the cameras have no provision for a remote shutter release, either mechanically or electronically. This makes them virtually worthless for my principal planned use. I cannot imagine why Panasonic did not include this simple feature considering all the other bells and whistles.
Cons: Did not meet expectations, no remote shutter release
