Flawed design; manufacturer low life

Excerpt: Worked ok for nearly a full year before suddenly dying in the middle of a shoot. Ok for outside shots; really awful in low light. Panasonic refused warranty work by saying the main board had "corroded" and i must have dropped it in a lake. The camera was never within a hundred miles of a lake. For the price, you can spend just a little more and get a good camera OR a lot less and get a good point and shoot, which is all the panasonic is anyway since the ridiculous...
Summary: Unfortunately there have been people that have had to rely on this camera to capture images of a UFO, but when published amongst their peers, have been seen possibly as a street light. That's obviously the fault of the camera, and it's no doubt when you consider that Panasonic doesn't want you to know about UFO's in the first place (which everyone knows).
Summary: I purchased FZ30 in early December 2005, in early January it died, wouldn't turn on. I sent it in for warranty repair, they replaced a fuse and returned it, it died again in exactly the same way in early February, they replaced a fuse and returned it again. It has now died in exactly the same way for the third time. Panasonic customer service refuses to replace the camera and I'm stuck in an endless loop. Panasonic service is terrible.
Summary: This camera is acceptable in bright daylight, but lower light situations result in grainy pictures. It was really noticeable. I was disppointed and returned it--other people may like the effect, though. I am ordering the Kodak P850. Kodak is known for its vibrant colors and it costs less. Best of luck to all!
Summary: As other users have said there is noise at low light levels, but for the price and daylight image quality who can complain. It performs as well, if not better than my brothes Canon EOS 300D digial SLR, and at only £360 it a bargin.
