Excerpt: I bought the Panasonic FZ18, it truly has an amazing lens. I got excellent shots at 18x zoom w/auto settings. Also the face detection is a nice feature! I am very enthousiastic about this digital camera!
Summary: i got this camera as an entry level piece before i would get an slr. this is surely a dlsr replacement camera. reduces the hassels of lens and manual controls.. had a lot of good pics with it. it also has an awesome batt life, around 400 shots.
Summary: I've tried the earlier versions from Panasonic, but this is really ultimate... The product was delivered on the said time.
I have a suggestion for Panasonic - to provide zoom functionality in video mode. If the camera had a zoom while taking a video, then there would be very few cameras to beat it.
Summary: I've had this camera about 3 weeks. This is my third digital camera - supplementing a Pentax Optio S4i. I researched this class of camera (more versatility and better quality than a sub-compact, but not as expensive as a DSLR) for a couple of months.
Summary: I also own a Nikon digital SLR. I bought this camera to take on a hunt in Alaska. I was concerned about the bulk and weight of my SLR, lenses, etc. What first caught my eye about this Panasonic was the 18x capability, which gives you 28mm to 504mm (in 35mm equivalent) in a small and light package.
Summary: This is a great compact digital camera with a super zoom range from a true wide angle to a very long telephoto. I took it on a trip to Utah recently visiting various national and state parks and took some great photos.
Summary: I recently wanted to upgrade from a simple point & shoot to something with a little more manual control, without spending a whole lot of money on a DSLR and here's what I got.... I think I made a GREAT decision on buying this camera!!!
