Summary: I love this camera! It is just as advertised - waterproof and shatter proof. It also takes great pictures and video. This is one of my favorite things I own - I have even lent if to my dad who wanted to take pictures on a fishing trip to Iceland. Great camera and multi-functional!
Summary: This was a great camera when I bought it in 2010. It does really take a bruising from my clumsy husband and 4 year old son. The problem now is that my MotoX cell phone now takes better quality pictures, just smaller. I still use the camera on occasion, but I mainly count on the cell for pics.
Summary: Wow, this camera is a total workhorse. We've had it now for several years and it has been phenomenal. I've taken it through the desert, mountains, and even under water and it still takes fantastic photos. Pros: - Simple to use menu - Great photos - Seems like it's everything proof. Amazingly durable - Compact size - Light weight Cons: - None I can't really complain, it does the job every time.
Summary: For 5 years this camera has delivered amazing quality pictures and though its internal storage may be slightly outdated now, the capability to easily switch SD cards makes that mostly a non-issue. I have dropped, kicked, drop-kicked, submerged, thrown, exposed to significantly freezing, dusty and sandy environments and yet this device has persevered in perfect working order!
Summary: Use this camera everywhere and for everything. It is great. My daughter has dropped it and we bring it in the pool the ocean, nothing is stopping it. Just need to make sure to rinse it off after a day of fun and let it air dry but great purchase overall.
Summary: I use my iPhone for most pics these days, but to be able to zoom, and more importantly, get it wet, this baby takes excellent pics, is durable, and yes, I have used it in, around and under the water successfully. For these reasons, there is still a place of a point and shoot camera in my life.
Summary: I’ve been toying with the idea of buying a waterproof camera for the last few years, I’ve always owned bridge cameras (and now a Canon 400D), none of which are particularly easy to take on the standards of rivers I regularly paddle (balancing a Peli case between your knees holding £1000 of camera and lens makes me somewhat nervous!). I finally decided to bite the bullet and throw some money at it this May.
Pros: Amazing video quality for a compact, Capable of some good shots in the right conditions, usable out of extreme environments too
Cons: Sub-par low-light performance, fiddly and stupidly placed video start button and main shutter release, ridiculous number of totally unnecessary scene modes
Summary: I purchased this camera back in Aug. 2009 shortly after it was introduced. The intent was to use it while snorkling in the Caribbean on a cruise. I used it underwater on three different dates during that cruise. Although the viewfinder had a bit of fogging everything else seemed to work ok. Per the instructions, I soaked it in fresh water after use and thoroughly dried it prior to opening the battery door. At this point, I'm still happy.
Summary: Wanted a camera with right pixels and rugged for underwater photography for my Miami trips and the pools. I got just that and the images came real good. Had to read the quick start guide and the detailed manual for optimally utilising the features available.
