Summary: I needed something other than my cell phone to toss in my motorcycle saddlebags that would provide high quality pictures, ease of operation and a reasonably good zoom to suck in distant objects. The Panasonic offer all of those capabilities and more. This camera was about a hundred dollars cheaper than the closest 12megapixel competitor at the time I purchased it and I did so after reading several reviews for P and S cameras.
Simple wide angle zoom camera to start photography with
12 August 2010
Summary: Excellent no frills digital for amateurs. The Leica lens, reasonable 5 zoom and 29 mm wide angle lens make great photos possible even for a Novice. I have more advanced Panasonic cameras with me but the DMC-FS25 is what I always take with me.
Summary: I bought this camera after plenty of research. Its been about 3 weeks now and i am totally satisfied with it. Most of the time i use the iA mode(Intelligent Auto) for shooting pictures. The pictures have been pretty good in different situations. Love this feature. No hassles of adjusting anything manually. I let the camera take care of all the required settings. So far so good.
Summary: I was surpried to see how well the pictures turned out for a non-SLR camera. I also liked the quality of the video and the over all ease of using this camera. I would definitely reccommend it for someone who just want a simple camera and not have to mess with a bunch of settings.
Summary: My camera freezes the same way a computer does. The picture on the screen is frozen, the lens is blocked. out of course. And the camera can not be turned off. This only happens, when the battery gets low. Replacing the battery and resetting the thing fixes the problem. Thing is I don't carry a spare batt. all the time. I am moving to Switzerland in two days, so I did not contacted customer support.
Summary: I love this camera! It's actually the second one I bought...had its predecessor for a couple years, then gave that one to my spouse and got this new one for myself. The viewer-LCD is huge and it takes great photos and video with sound. Only complaints: Not great getting video in darker conditions (even with increased exposure) and you can't zoom once you start a video.
Summary: This is a good camera for the money, and I am pleased with my purchase. A docking station to upload and work a little magic would have been nice, but I guess for the price I can't reasonably expect such.
Summary: Bought this for the wife for a x-mas pressie to replace her fuji which was compact at the time but at today's standards quite big. Well that went down well and has not stopped taking photo's since being unwrapped She loves its, size, screen size and pictures. On rare occasions I've been allowed to use it it works well and has loads of excellent features.
Summary: Bought this camera for holiday, excellent in light conditions, lots of pre-set 'modes' to play about with. Looks stylish, very easy to use and a good size. Unfortunately, as per most compact cameras, it's not great in dark conditions especially night shots but that's the only gripe I found with it. Overall, very pleased with purchase, would highly recommend!
