Great little camera for the price.

Summary: I bought this camera to take on a trip. We were going sailing in the Virgin Islands on a small catamaran and space was limited. I didn't want to take my much bigger and more expensive camera equipment. This camera worked nicely and was very convenient to carry around. It's two biggest drawbacks were that it was sometimes very slow to focus and there is no raw mode available. The jpeg files have a limited dynamic range which is fairly normal for a camera of this type.
Summary: When I dropped my 2 year old FS15 for the second time I was heartbroken that it was indeed broken. Panasonic doesn't make them anymore. This fantastic little camera has a Leica lens, 12.1 megapixels, 5x optical zoom, image stabilization and I carried it everywhere I went. After a long search, I found a refurbished (by Panasonic) one on Amazon. I received it promptly with all of the accessories and it works beautifully. Why do companies stop making wonderful things?

Summary: I both a camera panasonic lumix and in a few months later it gives me a focus problem with a message that I need to turn off the camera and back on. under warranty I contact the service center. I sent to repair and they sent me a refurbished model I went vacation few months later and the camera one more time gives me the same focus problem.
Summary: Very compact, easy to use and takes great pictures. We had bought one new, that I dropped and broke the display. Bought a new LCD on ebay, but damaged the backlight. Bought a used, as-is camera, for its backlight. Repaired #1, #2 had issues, so I bought #3- this one- that just needed a charger- that came from #2. Got a great deal and it works great! Wish me luck with #4!
Summary: I got a perfect Fs-15 on Ebay for $55 I couldn,t resist.I have the fs7 which is more basic but similar. The 2.33 12mp sensor on this one is not as clean or sharp of an image as the 10mp 2.5 sensor on the fs7.Color banding is also a problem(splotches of gold color in pics)Grain shows up fairly strong from iso 200 and up where as its not a problem on the fs7 until iso 800 with no banding even at that speed.
Summary: Bought this camera Sept of last year and a little over a year later the camera wont turn on and the lens is frozen in the out position. The camera always took bad pictures. Not happy at all..Buy a Canon or Nikon next time.
