Summary: I put the new and fully-charged battery into my new camera and it did not work unless I pressed on the bottom part of the camera. It turns out that the battery is not in good contact with the camera! Amazon only provides refund not replacement for this item, meaning I will lose money by simply returning this item. Panasonic requires that I ship this item back to them and they will only be able to mail me back a refurbished one!
Summary: The hinge to access the battery and SD card broke after 6 months. On top of that, it started insisting the SD card is write protected. After swapping back and forth between a couple of SD cards to verify they weren't write protected, the camera is now not releasing the card.
Summary: We are seriously disappointed, to the point of disgust, with this camera. The 2-star review by Linda really captures all of the problems, but I want to reiterate a few of them to the unsuspecting buyer: 1. Terrible low-light pictures: Forget about using the camera indoors. Without the flash, pictures are noticably grainy and low-quality. With the flash, they are harsh, full of red-eye, and have too much contrast (ie: all foreground, no background). 2.
Summary: Previous Panasonic products have impressed but not this one. The delay when taking a snap makes it useless for catching my young grandson. The touch screen always needs several taps, the menus are not intuitive and the picture quality is poor. The video is useless in low light. It does fit easily in the pocket though but overall poor value.
