Summary: This camera works very well. I am pleased with the auto-imaging software. This enables an effective "point and click" technique which works great for generally incompetent people like me. The only complaint that I have is in regards to nighttime/dark photographs. From my experience, which may be attributed to my naivety, I have not been able to take very clear and representative pictures in poor-lighting conditions.
Summary: I love this! it has so many options & is small & easy to carry. I have had 2 other Panasonic digital cameras (one was dropped on the driveway & died) & will continue with Panasonic. I love the auto adjust & the 8x optical lens. Between this and my FZ28, I can take fantastic photos & videos where ever I go.
Summary: Purchased this camera for my daughter's birthday last July -- it had received a lot of 4 plus star reviews and was selling for the supposedly bargain price of $149.99. Less than six months later it's suffering from routine System Error (Zoom) messages, which the camera puts out when you turn it on, the zoom lens extends (or tries to), and all is not well with the motorized system that sets the lens in position for taking photos or videos.
Summary: Well, so far I am disappointed with this camera. From all indications, this is not a new camera. The picture quality is far inferior to my old Kodak. Pictures are blurry, don't turn out at all when using zoom, and eyes always come out red or shiny white. I'm hoping that over time as I play with the different settings, I can get some better pictures.
Summary: I'm a big fan of panasonic. I was amazed at how lightweight the camera was. The color was exactly as advertised. Start up time is very fast and the shots are fantastic with lots of easy to use features for the novice and professional alike.
Summary: Nice camera, bought it for my mom. It is very easy to use just take pictures. The quality of the pictures are great, and we like that the battery can be charged separately. It also holds the charge well. All in all it is a good camera.
Good basic camera but the screen broke in less than a year of light use

Summary: I bought this camera based on the very good reviews here and on consumer reports. It takes good pictures and does a decent job of lessening blurry pictures due to camera shake. I wish it had a soft flash option. Sometimes the flash is too bright and it's too dark without it. But I regret my purchase because I took it out today (12-16) to take a family Christmas picture and the screen or CCD has a short in the connection.
Summary: I've had Panasonic Lumix's before. I love their line. When I lost my previous Panasonic Lumix, I was devastated until I realized that I could get a newer version. I searched through many different brands and lines. I kept coming back to this brand. I wanted this camera for the zoom and megapixels, and waited for a nice sale. It delivers. I get great pictures and it has settings for many different environments.
