Summary: I like this camera, it's easy but there is a real delay between pushing the shutter to take the picture and the actual shot. I also think that the pressure to activate the shutter is too much, so if you're not aware, you can get a blurred phto. I have taken some great shots with this camera, though and continue to use it. A good starter camera.
Summary: This was offered below a hundred dollars for a while and it's a steal at that price. It was one of the few pocket cams that offered an F2.8 lens and a 28mm wide angle in that price range. I find the zoom button aggravating, starts slow and then goes too fast, but I will probably develop a better knack for it soon. I bought this on a trip, and had no time to practice. I consider myself a serious amateur, and I was able to work most important settings within a few minutes.
Summary: This camera was purchased for my wife to slip in her purse so she could take pictures of the grandchildren. It replaced a very old Canon. I have always purchased Canon cameras but in this case, this camera had more to offer than the Canon and at a lessor price. We have been completely satisfied with its performance. We were a little concerned that it has a rechargeable battery and that we couldn't use AA's or AAA's as a back up but we have never run out of battery.
Summary: I bought this item as a gift, I had to return the first one because it stopped working. I contacted Amazon and after a 5 minute conversation they sent out a new one. Awesome product and customer service.
Summary: I bought this for my wife as an alternative to her digital SLR. For under the $100 range this camera is great! The flash does a great job as long as you're at least 4 feet or so from the subject. It does take some getting used to the settings and which ones to use, but they work really well. My biggest reason for choosing this over many others is that the digital stabilization is optical instead of digital. This makes a big difference, especially when zooming a long way.
Summary: Exactly as described. Perfect small-sized camera for an upcoming trip where you're not allowed a bulky one. Already have a larger Lumix and this one seems just as good although without the range of zoom that the larger one has. Excellent value for money.
Summary: I bought the DMC-FH1 as a Christmas gift for my wife to use for pics of the kids and around the house. This camera certainly won't replace my dSLR (D40x/D70) but it does well with well-lit scenes. Movie mode isn't anything to write home about without bright lighting and has given me some errors on playback with corrupted files. I haven't had a chance to rule out my SD card from causing those, a faster card may complete the files faster and have better luck.
Summary: Received product from Amazon quickly and looked forward to testing it out before an upcoming vacation. After charging the battery, reading the manual, formatting some SDHC cards, and playing around with the modes and menus, I tried it out. As the title says, I immediately received either "system error (zoom)" or "please turn camera off and on again" errors when I atempted to zoom (just out of the box so no drops or sand, etc.).
