Excerpt: I've just bought this camera 1 week ago. I'm in love to the look of the camera, and its the only one reachable to my budget. The camera works really fast, fast focusing, and minimum shutter lag, honestly I'm very satisfied to its speed. The camera works good in low light as I ever experienced with the other brand. It takes the light very good on wide angle. but when it comes to tele zoom, the whole things going differently.

Pros: Huge amount of tools and settings to make your pictures exactly the way you want them, like the scene modes and intelligent auto. The 12 megapixel (4000 x 3000 resolution) lens takes high quality photos, and the video feature is great as well. I also lo
Cons: Full digital zoom (20x) is extremely blurry, but you can always not turn it on.

Pros: I like its HD movie feature and its pretty high quality. Its lumix lens clearity is also cool.Various scene modes and its intelligent auto mode which automatically detects the scene and it really works. Its macro mode also works fine.5x optical zoom.
Cons: Cannot zoom when taking motion pictures. Not clear at its max optical zoom limit. No usb charging.(nikon s3000 has usb charging).no other cons found still untill used..(bought 1 month ago).
Summary: This is a wonderful camera! Pictures are very clear. Videos are very sharp, both in picture and sound. Obviously, this is not as good as an actual HD video recorder, but for my needs, it's great! This records in HD, so needs larger memory card such as 16 gb class 6. An extra battery is a good idea as well. I definitely recommend this camera.

Summary: A very good camera but like most now available, the wide-angle reproduction is not to my liking on many shots as distortion of the images takes place at either end of landscape or close-up records. So the non-linear images produce "leaning" posts and buildings and for instance if taking a shots of persons sitting around a dinner table, faces and heads get "stretched". I have experienced this with other digital cameras.
