Summary: First, I am not new to digital cameras. Over the years I have had several digital pocket cameras from several camera makers. I am always looking for a better camera. I worked my way up to a high end DSLR but found that I missed having a compact carry it around camera. One that would always be with me. Before I purchased the ZS10, I had the Panasonic ZS6. Little did I know... The ZS6 is a nice camera and easy to use. So why then would I purchase the ZS10?
Summary: 16 times optical zoom combined with 14MP and a 24mm equiv wide angle makes this the most flexible camera I've ever owned. The touch screen is nice, but not necessary, and trying to use the camera on manual is overly complicated. The fact that you can trust the auto settings, shoot bursts, and record HD video make this an easy camera to own, Complaints? Only one - there is no explanation in the manual of the differences between the two image stabilization modes.
Summary: This camera is ahead of its time and all others are playing catch up. Rugged quick set up and many options to shoot from. I wish it had internet capabilities but the new products do have that feature.

Summary: Best Point and Shoot I have Owned...Have even dropped it into a Mountain Stream and with Time and Patience it dried out again and Works...come to think of it I have dropped it a few times ...best to buy a waterproof casing for it though!!
Summary: I purchased the camera as a replacement to a very old Lumix (FZ5). I got a great price through Amazon Warehouse and am really happy with the camera. Its tiny, has a great zoom and takes very good photos for the price I paid. The video clips are also very good and serves my purpose of short clips here and there. The only thing I don't care for is the results using the IA mode.
