Summary: Nice body - easy to hand on to. OK for Macro shots - good zoom. But the quality of the photos are poor. I use an tripod different ISO's..tried many different solutions. 8x10 is the largest you can go I have many cameras - my Cannon G5 (6 megapixel) I was able to blow up beyond 16x20 and have it crisp and solid this camera is good for kids.
Excerpt: Hi all, I bought FZ 200 about 5 months ago due to the nature of the lens without more investigation. However, I saw that noise occurs too much in a lot of pictures. In particular, nikon P510 sold at half the price is even less noise than fz200. when the captured image was performed 2x zoom, noise is immediately evident. This was the part that upset me. Because very few of the photos I took were clean.
Summary: I have an older model FZ50. I thought I was upgrading when i bought the FZ200, the camera is full of new features Like 3D,HDR and panorama pictures, etc. but the quality of the pictures is not what i expected. I find my FZ50 takes better pictures. The 10 Megapixels of the FZ200 camera 3x2 pictures look great on the LCD screen but when you see them on your computer you realize they have a lot of noise, they lack detail, they are grainy compared to my FZ50 with 8.5...
Beware - Grey Market Product from Another Deal Site
B. Sanger, Amazon
24 May 2014
Summary: Simple and to the point. This is not about the camera, but about the vendor. I received the FZ200 from Another Deal Site today and it is a grey market version. No USA charger, no USA warranty, no USA documentation. If I wanted a grey market version, I would have KNOWINGLY purchased a grey market version. Unless I'm missing something in the description from Another Deal Site, I did not knowingly purchase a grey market version.
Excerpt: This camera is, on paper, the ideal camera for travel. It takes good pictures and the 2.8f zoom is impressive, but the focus at the telephoto end of the zoom is unreliable. What makes this camera lousy is the US Warranty and poor customer service.

I travel a lot and on the last trip to Chile the shutter button stopped working.
Summary: I ordered the camera, and it arrived as a Japanese language camera! Documentation, CD, and camera menus and displays in ONLY Japanese. Amazon suggested returning it and ordering again - which I did - and the second camera came in as Japanese again. There is no selection to change language, and all materials, like the first time, were only in Japanese.
Summary: The SD slot mechanism broke and would not hold in the memory card. No big deal right? WRONG. I still don't have the camera. It's lost in Panasonic repair oblivion. I've called and called and called, placed on hold to be disconnected. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE phone system and no resolution for weeks and weeks. I have purchased many Panasonic products, including three different super zooms as they have upgraded. Never again.
Excerpt: This camera is not compatible with Mac OS operating systems above 10.7. I spoke with Panasonic directly about it and they said this camera is for PC users. This was not disclosed prior to my purchase. NOT HAPPY Closeup shots distort the image on the edge of the frame. Must stand a good bit back from subject and then zoom in to avoid this problem.
Excerpt: I am quite disappointed in the Lumix FZ200. The zoom is great but the resolution is no greater than 180 DPI which limits the resolution potential when printing photo books like those offered by BLURB. I called Panasonic and they said that there is no way to increase the DPI to above 180 and for that reason I am returning the camera.....
