Awesome camera for the price

Summary: This camera takes great pictures and is small enough to slip in my ski pants to capture those special POW moments - even in the north east. Holds a long charge but wish it could charge while hooked up to my computer versus havinging to bring the charger along. A small inconvenience for a good value.
Summary: I really like the FX48. It's very portable, exposure control and color are great, and the 25mm wide angle lens is amazing. The images are very pleasant to look at. But if you're into really analyzing image detail, images are quite soft, especially in the corners or along the right edge depending on where within the 5X zoom range the lens is.
Summary: I'm a DSLR junkie and needed a compact camera that I could bring with me anywhere and take decent shots. This is the camera! Love the image quality as well as the look and feel of the camera. Would give a perfect review, but the lcd on the back is blurrier than my t1i, which is understandable given the price difference of the two bodies.
Excerpt: I bought this camera as a replacement for my Optio S5i that was getting long in the tooth. After a few weeks with the FX48, I've gotta say it's a good replacement and a decent compromise on features. I was looking for something that turned on and snapped pics quickly, had good quality, could survive being outside for a little while, and had a decent movie mode. The camera works well in daylight, and decently in low light. The build construction is top-notch.
Summary: Purchased this as a pocket camera. I have a DSLR, sometimes portability is key. It starts up relatively fast, focuses quick, and is almost always ready for the next shop. Only gripe is charging, it doesn't use a mini-USB. One has to remove the battery or use the proprietary AC adapter. The pictures are great. It was a great purchase for us.
Excerpt: I bought this camera mainly because of its ultra wide angle lens. I used to own a Panasonic FX30, which had an 28mm lens. I was already satisfied with that model, but this one has a 25mm and I like it even better. I also like the 5x zoom; it comes in very handy. I was astounded by the image quality, though I don't use the photo's for any professional purpose (only for amateur photography and for shooting pics at parties and stuff) and I may not be very critical about...
Excerpt: I own a Pentax K-20D plus sigma 70-200 2.8 hsm and pentax 16-50 sdm lenses. I was looking for a P&S camera to use in occasions where my reflex is unusable (sport activity, everyday shooting, party with friends). Found the FX40 very good. Fast focus, reasonable image noise till 400 iso. Quite unusual 2.8 in wide. And much more unusual real wide angle zoom start. I think I'll use this camera a lot.
