Summary: Been using this camera for almost three years now and what can I say this thing is amazing! I've taken this camera on dozens of trips from whitewater kayaking in West Virginia and Canada to snorkeling in Hawaii and it has never let me down! Pros: TRULY waterproof, never had a drop of water get inside Takes great pictures Color makes it easy to find Rechargeable battery is great and lasts for lots of pictures 1080p video looks awesome Lots of different picture modes for...
Summary: This is one of the best waterproof digital cameras I have ever used. It has gone with us on every vacation and has always preformed incredibly well! We have been snorkeling in the Caribbean and on lots of beaches. We never have to worry about our camera. This thing takes incredible pictures and video and we could not be more pleased with it.
Excerpt: I've been using slrs for 40 years. I've had this camera for 2 years. My dslr is gathering dust. Aside from situations requiring manual control there's no advantage in it. Besides the obvious that everyone mentions; I like that I can shoot into the sun with amazingly little flare. I like that bracketed exposures release in quick succession. It makes a difference when hand holding for hdr. I tried the Canon G15.
Summary: I was looking for a water proof camera to take to my vacation. At first I was skeptical since I read that some of the cameras have a seal problem. Luckily mine did not have any issues and it works great. I do have to say that sometimes you have to play around with the settings for pictures not to be over expos or have the right colors.
2nd use leaked and ruined even though I followed instructions carefully. Just over 1 year old :(

Summary: Worked great except it leaked on 2nd use. 1st use worked fine, I followed instructions and also put in fresh water afterward. I had an Olympus before this and the Panasonic did take better pictures but this doesn't help if it doesn't stand up to its advertised purpose. Of course it is now out of warranty even though it is only 1.5 years. FAIL Panasonic.
Summary: While I very much wanted this camera to work well, I ended up very disappointed. On the first snorkeling trip, the LCD started blinking on and off and the camera stopped taking pictures. There was nothing on the seal and the battery door was locked, but water apparently got in. I returned the camera to Panasonic. They tested it and said it passed all leakage tests, but there was corrosion on the Main PC Board, so they replaced it under warranty and returned the camera.
Summary: The camera I had rarely took quality pictures altho I kept experimenting with all shooting features. Then the chord broke while I was swimming with the camera. Now it's at the bottom of the bay. Panasonic was uncooperative with responses and then did not honor their warranty. All of this happened within a year of purchase. Their solution was selling me refurbished camera at a reduced price of $175!!!
Summary: I am not satisfied with the picture quality. I take pictures outside - mostly landscapes, and the pictures turn out blurry or grainy. I have been taking pictures for a while with different cameras so am not a newbie. Really think this camera is not as good as a Canon.
Excerpt: Bought this camera after carefully considering my options (opposed to when I once walked to a store and bought a red Olympus Tough because we were about to start the babyswim ;) and this won. When I saw the specific video recording button I was sold (did not even try to explain to my young kids how to navigate the menus and selectin the video recording mode on our Tough) now the kids can take videos, witch causes some problems as our hard drives are filling fast with the...
Summary: I was very excited about this camera as I had wanted something less bulky than the underwater cameras I had in the past. This was not my first underwater camera and I am very familiar with the care of cases and how to prevent unwanted leakage. That being said, I went to great lengths to be sure nothing happened to this camera such as following every direction provided by Panasonic and babying this camera far beyond any of my previous underwater cameras and STILL IT...
