Excerpt: From the off I must state I have limited experience with the camera. As a camera type the idea of a weatherproof pocket alternative to my main camera was an attraction. However once the internet purchase arrived the disappointment began. First of all - good lens, crisp resolution at base ISO. Not bad at all and certainly enough for the camera type. The look and feel of the camera is fine. All boxes ticked on the camera exterior. But then we come to the photographs.
Summary: This was a great camera for the dry-land part of my gap year. Unfortunately, just as I got to the middle of nowhere with beautiful scenery, I decided to take it underwater for the first time. I followed the instructions to the T but it broke, leaving me camera-less for 6 weeks. I was gutted. Don't buy this camera if you're taking it underwater, spend a bit more and get a model that actually works.
Not fit for purpose very poor service from Magicdiscounts

Summary: I have had this camera less than 3 months and so far it has developed 2 faults. I purchased it from Magicdiscounts who refuse to refund me the £6.95 it costs to send it to be repaired and they refuse to refund my money even though I have explained that the camera isn't fit for purpose or of a satisfactory quality under the Sale of Goods Act.
Summary: We saved up to go on a once in a lifetime holiday to the Cook Islands, I got this camera back in March for my girlfriend's birthday. We tested it out once by dipping it from the side of a kayak and it worked ok. Jump forward 4 months and we used it on our first day of snorkelling. We made absolutely sure we'd closed it up as per the instructions and went ahead. It worked absolutely fine, got some ok photos.
Summary: This camera was purchased for use on a cruise across the Pacific Ocean. Unfortunately, it failed to operate after it's first immersion in the sea. Since this was a once in a lifetime holiday, visiting many islands with wonderful snorkelling opportunities, it was very upsetting not to have a camera with which to capture underwater memories.
Summary: I purchased this to replace a Kodak PlaySport that was my waterproof camera last year. I'm a sea swimmer and I realised I needed better photo quality than the PlaySport could provide (which otherwise has excellent video), and after much dithering, I chose the Lumix FT20. Photo quality was quite good on land, though I didn't try it a lot. The menu system isn't great so choosing the different mode types is very slow.
Summary: Being a keen photographer - one piece of kit I didnt have was an underwater camera. Having spent weeks researching cameras capable of going up to 5m underwater, I opted to put this camera to the test a few weeks later on holiday to Eygpt where I was both diving and snorkling. I checked the camera over prior to going out on my first boat trip where I was snorkelling. Sadly first try and the camera stopped working after one picture.
Pros:
