Lumix Digital Camera TS10

sammy14, REVIEW STREAM

  • Excerpt: After experiencing several accidents with my old camera , I decided to search for something invincible. I know that with today’s technology, the creation for almost everything is possible. Lumix is a division of Panasonic. The shape does not appeal to me as stylish compared to the aesthetically-enhanced products from Sony and Nikon which even uses chic colors to add lure to their gadgets.

  • Excerpt: Has been a semi reliable camera. Picture and video colours and quality is great but has a digital touch to it. Positives -Is the good quality of the photos and colours in the video for the price -Is able to take light knocks and and handle 3m or so depth of water etc. -Does the basics well and is easy enough to navigate.

  • Excerpt: Picture quality is great but not an ideal outdoor camera, which defeats the purpose of being called as a waterproof. Sudden change of room temperature creates condensation inside the lens. This condensation, overtime, can mess up the circuits due to rust. If you call the Panasonic support, they will just tell you that it is normal for the condensation to happen. That is a big lie.

Great Investment as Vacation Camera

Aggie, J&R
21 February 2011
  • Summary: Highly highly recommend reading tutorial for using underwater before first use-- very helpful. Great things about it: 1.Easy to use, easy to switch to motion picture mode or normal picture. 2. Definitely conforms to the product's claims: we dropped the camera 10 ft. into a grotto; jumped off a 35-ft cliff into water with it; camera bounced about in my bag the entire 9-day trip.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Fast/accurate auto-focus, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, Great Zoom
  • Cons: Short Battery Life

Great durable camera in a small package

Leica Lover, J&R
9 December 2010
  • Summary: Overall a great camera for the price. Comparable to the DMC-TS2, for a much cheaper price. Does not go as deep as the TS2 (30ft vs. 10ft), or withstand as much impact (10ft drop vs. 5ft), however. For under $200, you can't beat the build and lens quality of this underwater camera. Make sure to keep all rubber seals clear of any debris!
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Fast/accurate auto-focus, Good Image Quality, Great Zoom
  • Cons: Low underwater depth-10ft

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FT10: Brilliant little camera. Take heed of manufacturer's warning ...

KJ_88, Dooyoo
20 August 2013
  • Summary: This is a great little performer. It's overlooked by the mass market because it doesn't offer a massive optical zoom like most of the higher end compacts do, but for what its capable of, this camera is excellent. It's perfect for travelling, as its very robust. The metal body does not scratch easily and is very pleasant on the eye. You don't have to worry about accidentally dropping this as its built to withstand.
  • Pros: quality, build, performance, functionality, robustness
  • Cons: design is a little uncomfortable to hold, need to get resealed every 12 months

"Follow the strict instructions...and still get ripped off."

ScottP3, CNET
3 April 2013
  • Summary: Stay right away from this camera. I spent a little extra to buy this camera for underwater use, followed all of the rigorous instructions for preventing water getting inside and...........well you can guess the rest. It is now a useless piece of junk. No point in following up on replacement as there is a disclaimer that if there is a microscopic fibre in the seal (ie not visible to the naked eye) - then 'bad luck'.
  • Pros: reasonable picture quality and easy to use
  • Cons: this camera was not waterproof, even when following the strict instructions.
