  • Conclusion: The compact little Panasonic Lumix FS3 and FS5 cameras are two which have much to offer with their small designs, nice point-and-shoot operation and great performance. Set aside their minor differences, both cameras have features which casual picture takers will appreciate: optical image stabilization, face detection that works (if shooting head on) and a nicely viewable 2.5 inch LCD.
  • Pros: Stylish and good build quality (metal tripod mount is rare!), Optical image stabilization, Very good battery life, Fairly powerful flashes for cameras this size (Especially FS3), Above average camera performance, Very good LCD visibility, Plenty of scene modes, Intelli-ISO, Good image quality, better than previous cameras and no color fringing

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS5 review Review

CNET
25 March 2008
  • Summary: A slow burner of a camera, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS5's wide-angle lens caught our eye, despite some pedestrian styling. The more we used it, the more we fell in love with it as we uncovered yet more flexible options, making this accessible point-and-shoot another quiet triumph for Panasonic
  • Pros: Strong pictures, Full-resolution burst mode, Handy shooting menu, Extensive flexibility
  • Cons: No manual control, Less than glamorous styling
