Excerpt: I own it since it came out. Took thousands of pictures from subarctic to subtropics. It never disappoint you, either quality or overall mechanical soundness! As a backup I am using e620 with the multiple lenses, although, XZ1 has been used most of the time. I think the quality of the video should be a bit higher, nonetheless in the full light it creates half decent .avi format video clips.
This is definitely the best choice when it comes to compacts.

Summary: Bought and XZ-1 a week ago. Am absolutely delighted. It is a wonderful camera that fits in my shirt pocket. Picture quality is excellent (try Natural mode, Contrast +1, Sharpness +1), ISO 100. For instant grab shots I use Aperture mode at f/4… sharp from 2’ to infinity. Took a picture of an airliner coming in, right overhead, got two sharp images real fast, there’s almost zero shutter lag time.
Excerpt: Good quality pics overall. No useful customizations (dials & buttons), yet many jpg picture mode customizations that few will use, want or need (if you need this level of automation, you will do it post in RAW form). Many issues with this camera leave me wanting to teach the programmers how to do their job and fix the short-comings. The pic quality and optics are goog when ISO is below 800. Above 800 degrades quickly. No program shift.
Excerpt: Being a DSLR user i found this camera very close to the image quality of SLR.I was in search of a camera with proper form factor for every day use with minimum back pack. Pro: 1.Sharp and fast lens.Excellent corner to corner sharpness. 2.Very good and fast auto focus. 3.Bokeh effects are excellent and beautiful 4.No shutter lag. 5.Excellent images both in RAW and JPEG. 6.Very good metering system. 7.Color rendition is awesome. 8.Good low light shooting.
Excerpt: I have this little but serious compact always with me when there'some possibility of serious shooting. I would like to have AE-L and a more sensible auto ISO work but everything else is just perfect.
Excerpt: This is definitely the best choice when it comes to compacts. The pictures look amazingly natural and the big, fast lens allows me to take pictures without much hassle. I don't have to think about focusing or movement: it seems that no matter what I do, in normal circumstances, the images taken are sharp and spot on. I would never go in a trip with some other camera... I repeat myself: the perfect point-and-shoot. Oh...
Excerpt: I love this little camera. long time Oly user (still use my OM10 frequently) and have cameras from both the 4/3 and micro 4/3 range. I bought this on a trip to Toronto after I relaised I had a great phopto opp there but had left my camera at home. I am so pleased that I did - it's an amazing little camera. The image quality is great - right from max apperture in low light right up to with the ND filter on outside in brilliant sinshine.
Summary: First I like to thank eBay in their suggestive request for me to write a review. I wish to note however, the camera an Olympus XZ-1 10.0 MP Digital Camera - Black, has been as recently as last month in fact my first purchase with the eBay organisation. I always wanted to own this camera, in particular since its release on the market in 2010. A compact camera with a focal lens of f1.8. Similar in lens aspect as my old Olympus OM-1 that still have, purchased back in 1971.
