Summary: We took this camera on our first cruise so I wouldn't have to carry my DSLR. The pictures of the beach and butterfly conservatory turned out great. I didn't have as much success with the night time shots or fast moving objects but that's only because I'm used to a very fast camera that I really know. I only had a few days to practice with this before vacation. All in all a great camera if you want something light to take vacation pictures with.
Great camera for the money, cheap, fun, fast, and durable.

Summary: Great value for the money, waterproof 10mp with a few different settings for quick moment capturing. The only complaint I have about the camera is the lcd screen. It doesnt have very good resolution, making all the pictures look kinda bad until you download them onto a computer or play them on a tv.
Great 'beater' camera to take where you won't take your 'good' one

Summary: I bought this camera to take with me when I don't want to risk damaging my dslr. The camera works fine for outdoor shots and is great for the occasional dunk in the pool or using when boating or at the beach. This would not be a good choice to take scuba diving, but could probably withstand shallow snorkelling adventures as long as you limit the under water time per the instructions.
Summary: I bought this in red, today, from Walmart for $49.00. That's Right!!! $49.00 plus tax. Beware, you need to buy your own XD card. I had a Fuji camera that took an XD card, so I was ok. It's not the best camera but it's not any worse than a lot of them that you pay a lot more for. Haven't tried the movie mode. Pic quality is ok. Not tor replace a DSLR.... It's just a fun camera. I plan to take it in the shower and try it in the water..no nude pics of me..sorry. Hmmm.
Summary: my husband bought this camera while he was deployed and it took good pictures especially for the price. when he got home we took it to the pool and took several pictures and they came out clear and it did NOT flood. maybe because it only went down about 3 or 4 feet but that is good enough for me. i was never planning on taking it scuba diving and it primarily was purchased to take to the pool or beach so i wouldnt mess up my expensive dslr.
Summary: I purchased a refurbished model of this camera prior to vacationing to Hawaii. After reading some other reviews about the camera not being waterproof, I took a backup disposable underwater camera, and kept a cheap memory card in the Olympus just in case it flooded. It did not. I was able to take great underwater pictures at Hanauma Bay (including a baby green sea turtle that I swam with for about 10 minutes!), as well as great pictures out of the water.
