Summary: Love it! So we had a trip planned to the Dominican Republic and I wanted to get a good underwater camera. I looked at the TG-850 camera and saw the reviews weren't so hot, then I looked at the older TG-830 and saw that they were very good. I sprung on this camera. This camera is TOUGH! I abused the heck out of it in the Domincan and it handled like a champ. I would suggest buying an LCD protector to avoid having sand scratch it.
Excellent picture and video quality for such a small package

Summary: Took this little gem to Mexico, kept it in my shorts pocket the entire time. I went swimming many times, and could pull it out to take pictures and/or video at will. Turns on and is ready to shoot quickly. Excellent picture and video quality for such a small package. Battery life could be better, but I always had a spare fully charged and close at hand. Images are untouched, taken on automatic settings.
Summary: I consider myself an advanced novice, and normally shoot with a D7000 Nikon. I wanted a portable camera I could take to countries where the bigger camera is not as welcomed, as well as one that I could use in rough areas. The camera has a lot of good potential. Great built in GPS function to locate each shot, even in 3rd world countries (GPS works everywhere). The functionality took a little getting accustomed to, with little documentation to assist.
I will say that this camera worked great for what we wanted

Summary: We bought the camera for our trip to Jamaica. we wanted something that could take a beating, go underwater, and was not as expensive as our SLR. I will say that this camera worked great for what we wanted. Battery life was good, picture quality was good enough that we did not feel the need to purchase any resort taken pictures, and it fit in any pocket.
Summary: Overall, a really great product. I have to disclose that I am a professional photographer, so if you're expecting professional results - this is not the camera for you. If you want something rugged, waterproof, drop-safe, sand-proof, quick, easy and for taking quality shots on the fly - go for it! I've tried many cameras like this one and they have all failed.
Summary: I've had this camera for over a year and shot thousands of images... I LOVE it!! It is fantastic in low light (indoors)... The low light pics are a little grainy but much better than snapshot quality... If you're looking for an all around, do it all camera that is pretty much everything proof, this is a good choice. But!!! It's not going to replace a $1000 SLR with interchangeable lenses ... Don't expect studio quality images...
