Summary: Cannot believe what a totally cool camera this is. Full of surprising choices of effects. My only complaint is that it is very lousy on closeups even on super macro which my old Pentax waterproof camera was fabulous with.
Decent to good waterproof camera for images noticeably better than a camerphone in its regular setting.

Summary: I purchased this for snorkeling in the ocean. Did not have a problem with this at all. I did not go more than 5 feet deep though. So cannot say if it actually functions at the depth suggested. I never used the "underwater" functions but the images still came out satisfactory.
Summary: great durable little camera. small and compact easy to travel with. has picture taking settings that are neat. took on my honeymoon 7 day cruise to cabo and PV and it was find in the ocean/beach/pool. got sand on it and soaked it after use with no problems. dropped it a few times too and no issues.
Summary: The camera is water proof (for snorkeling) and turns on and takes photos very quickly. Our only real complaint is that in bright sunlight the screen is hard to see, making it a bit of a challenge to tell what you are pointing at. Part of this was a foggy mask but the dim screen did not help.
Summary: She loves the camera and able to navigate the basic functions well. Much better than the kid friendly cameras on the market where the pictures and capabilities are not very good. The one challenge (versus phone based cameras) for her is sharing and printing the pictures.
Crapped out after the third use: mysteriously repaired itself

Summary: I used it twice in a pool, and once or twice on dry land. I was very careful about following the instructions for use and drying it out. The next time I turned it on, it would only power on for a second or two, then power itself off. Olympus sent me a replacement battery, but that didn't help.
