Summary: The camera is water proof (for snorkeling) and turns on and takes photos very quickly. Our only real complaint is that in bright sunlight the screen is hard to see, making it a bit of a challenge to tell what you are pointing at. Part of this was a foggy mask but the dim screen did not help.
Summary: She loves the camera and able to navigate the basic functions well. Much better than the kid friendly cameras on the market where the pictures and capabilities are not very good. The one challenge (versus phone based cameras) for her is sharing and printing the pictures. If there was a way to share it easily from the camera it would be close to perfect. She has already dropped it and used it in the bathtub without any issues.
Summary: Have to say I was very pleased with this purchase. It was kinda hard to find the right sd card that was "recommended" and when tried to get ahold of Olympus to get questions answered and appropriate sd card - was put on hold forever and never did get to talk to anyone. My expectations were met from reviews and tips read prior to purchase. Had to be aware constantly of where my finger was when taking video/pictures because it too easily got in view of lens.
Summary: We had planned a trip to the BVI and wanted a camera for underwater photos while snorkeling. After reading reviews on a number of cameras I selected this camera because many of the reviews stated that the camera made very good pictures both underwater and out of the water. I was not disappointed in the performance. All the pictures turned out well and the videos were great.
Summary: Pros -Mostly made of plastic but feels durable. -Light weight. -So far indeed is waterproof (sink test and rafting trip). -No lens that pops out, so no lens to worry about bending accidentally. -Worry-free to take onto beach and adventuring, no worries about sand getting into lens or dropping the camera - just drop in pocket and go! -Simple and intuitive shooting options, quick to turn on/off flash, get into different "scenes".
