Summary: this was my second waterproof camera. The first one failed. Then I read reviews about the importance of cleaning properly after use in saltwater, because the salt causes the seals to fail. I cleaned this one regularly, and it still failed after snorkeling.
Summary: I bought the camera to take it on vacation. I received it during the week, let the camera charge and thought i would take it out fishing to try it out before my vacation. Took a few pictures with it.
Summary: bought this camera to take along a hawaiian holiday. the first few days with it, camera worked great. Took it snorkeling, swimming in the pool. Images and videos were nice and clear. the 4th day of heavy usage, it wouldn't turn on and when I opened the battery door, water came out.
Summary: I purchased this camera specifically for a beach vacation in which most of our time was spent on the beach and in the water. This camera didn't even last 2 days. I first noticed water spots on the pictures so I decided not to use it and dry it out.
Summary: I bought this camera for a family vacation/cruise where I wanted to be able to take photos on the beach and while snorkeling. It lasted 1 1/2 days. I opened the camera to charge the battery and found moisture inside and the battery starting to corrode.
Summary: I took the camera to Maui recently and hoping I could take some underwater pictures with the kids. It worked all fine for the first 2 days (I rinsed and dried the camera as instructed after each use) and on my third day the camera suddenly stopped working.
Summary: I purchased 2 of these within days of each other. The first one never worked (right out of the box). The second on lasted 5-months before it went haywire. Dealing with Olympus to get them repaired was quite cumbersome. Maybe I just got 2 lemons. But, I would never buy again.
