Summary: I've used the tg-1 since July of 2012. At the moment it is sitting in a bird feeder recording close up video of blue jays, cardinals and nuthatches going nuts on black oil sunflower seeds. It takes great video ans stills. I've used it under water and dropped it in the snow without any damage.
Summary: I purchased this camera for the purpose of having an underwater camera to take with me when I travel for SCUBA diving (I purchased the housing for deeper dives separately). I did not expect it to become my go-to camera for all of my general photography needs.
Summary: I ordered this camera a year ago because my big nice digital SLR broke (it's 8 years old). I wanted a smaller camera that I could put in my pocket and take on hikes with my dog, to the dog park, use in the rain of Seattle, take photos of my pet fishes, not worry about it in bars when I go see bands,...
Summary: I'll be using this lens on upcoming vacations. The playing with it I did shows both the versatility and creativity it offers. It's gotten some great group shots and some interesting landscapes in the late winter snows. If you have to chose between this lens and the telephoto, get this one.
Summary: The TG 1-iHs is a great camera for what it was made for. I also have DSLR camera that iuse when I want higher quality photos. The Olympus is great for an underwater abusable camera. One of the main reasons I bought this tough camera was because of the relatively small shutter lag.
Summary: Good camera, but don't expect anything from the video - horrible ticking noise.
Pros: Takes good photos
Cons: The video is wacked - horrible ticking noise! I thought I could adjust is out - not! Olympus says it's normal for the camera. It is the auto focus adjusting. Just stupid - the video is not useable at all. Olympus will not take it back.
