Summary: I love this camera. Very easy to use and it takes great pics. The only problem was that I was sent a USB cord that doesn't quite fit the plug in on the camera. I will have to buy a memory card reader to download pics.
Hate to say it but newer with more of everything ...
12 December 2014
Summary: Hate to say it but newer with more of everything isn't always better. I own the Olympus sz-10 as well as the Olympus sz-16 and the image quality from my sz-10 is better than my sz-16. I don't if it is the difference in the lens, image stabilization or if I just got a bad one.
Summary: I have only had this week and i will revise my review once I have used it more. I bought this to replace a Kodak that was several years old and starting to s how signs of sporadic issues with various features . I wanted a camera with more zoom but one that also had a decent MP.
Does many things well,.....but Poor Video Performance,...Noisy Telephoto,...Automatic Focus get "lost" at times...
10 October 2014
Summary: This is a descent camera. Couple things I found that led me to return was this: 1. The Video recordings the voices were muffled and difficult to hear. 2. The noise /buzz of the telephoto was loud enough to be recorded on the videos. 3.
Excerpt: I would not recommend this unless the purpose was to take scenic photography or document photography. Shutter lag is a drag. Was this review helpful? |
Pros: pocket sized; good color, ergonomic, flip flash
Cons: Lag time for shutter is abysmal. This will never do for any "action" photography and even subjects who are not moving smiled while wondering "did you take it yet"? Meanwhile, my shutter finger depressing the button is getting arthritic waiting for a confirmatory click... I got some of the worst "...
Excerpt: It also takes movies...and strongly reccommend buying the optional chip for more pictures. I don't see the need for all the menus. (I am 82)! ONe thing I reall like, when the camera is off...the lens i not exposed,,,,very nice
Pros: Great for low light conditions. Excellant for taking still pics of dogs and cats who are CONSTANTLY moving. Clear bright dolors inside or out. The 16 mega pixs really make a difference/
Cons: Not exactly a point and shoot. Somewhat complicated to open up and take a picture...few steps involved. (this dissappoints my wife)/
Summary: The Olympus Stylus SZ-16 has good and bad features. Pros: 1. Excellent zoom quality for such a relatively small camera. 2. Great image stabilization. Cons: 1. One can take rapid fire pictures; however, there is a recording delay of 2 -3 seconds before one can take another shot if you are taking...
Summary: I was originally looking for a camera to capture soccer shots. The zoom pictures are not as clear as I expected - grainy. There are some nice features like selecting the type of picture and it is smaller than the DSL cameras. Pictures not using the zoom or just a slight zoom are really nice.
