Summary: nothing for to say then laugh at it and cry at the same time i buy the olympus sz-12 SILVER cost me ( $ 117 ) but they send me the olympus sz-12 BLACK that only cost $ 97 and amazon they don't do anything about this problem
Summary: I ordered this camera planning to use it on a future trip. It looked intimidating and decided to just return it and make do with my iphone camera so I requested a refund several months after purchasing it on amazon but it was past the return date so I had to live with it and figure out how it worked. I took it on vacation only to find out the menu on the camera didn't work. Since I purchased on amazon, it came with no warranty.
Summary: I returned this item to Amazon less than two weeks after purchasing it. I've owned several Olympus cameras and actually believed that they couldn't make a dysfunctional camera. I've even bragged to friends and family that owned other makes what fools they were to not buy Olympus. Well…."Me Thinks Thou Protest Too Much!" Yes, indeed I surely discovered that Olympus does not make great cameras all the time. The picture quality is terrible.
Summary: I had purchased a SZ-14 but I had to send it back because it had internal memory problems and that model was not available so I opted for the SZ-12 which was actually more expensive that the SZ-14. After taking 41 photos this camera also errored with "memory full" so obviously this one has the same problem. This camera also has to be sent back. Obviously I am not going to try replacing this one with another similar camera by Olympus.
Summary: I am a mom with 3 young children and don't know very much about photography, but I am tech savvy. I did what others said, and got the higher class SDHC card, etc. I got this Olympus to replace a 4-5 year old Canon Powershot, just because I wasn't happy with the slowness of the Canon in between shots. The shots on the Olympus LCD looked okay, but when we downloaded them, it was a different story. They had fuzzy backgrounds and the colors were washed out.
Summary: I bought a camera on 9-26-12. I took it to a four day festival and it froze up the entire time. I missed so many great moments. I tried to return it but Olympus tells me I have to send my camera to them in New York at my expense. It will take 2-3 weeks for them to get it back to me. So, for $250, I've got nothing. No camera to photograph my grandchildren at Halloween, or my dogs, or my plants (I'm a horticulturist) or my visitors?
Summary: I bought this camera on sale Sept 2012 to be my general camera - but also for concerts. Was excited about the zoom and quality of pictures and video on the reviews. Um - wrong. Several major issues - there is no stabilizer on video - so,if handheld when zoomed, it will look like you were shooting during an earthquake and make people seasick. Truly unable to watch for long or post on Youtube (private setting). A tripod is absolutely necessary for zoomed video.
