Good Workhorse of a Camera, Tough, Light, Good Picture Taker for Closeups
10 October 2014
Summary: This camera, along with the Olympus Stylus Tough 6000, 8000, and 8010, are good, workhorse, cameras that produce good quality closeups and medium range pictures. They are tough, waterproof, and don't suffer from the notorious Canon lens failure symptom.
Summary: I love that this camera is waterproof. I've taken it on a cruise with me, to water parks, white water rafting, boating, in the lake, in the pool, even when it might rain. I've also brought it places where I know it might get dirty like a 'paint 5K' because I knew I could wash it after.
Summary: Saw some concerns about this Camera when I bought it. I've used it for a couple of years now while kayaking. Have carried it attached to my PFD. So it has gotten banged around some. Been under water with me more than I want to admit. Has seen chlorine pool action while practicing.
Summary: I bought this camera because I wanted one that I can take with me regardless of what I'll be doing. I've been able to go to the beach, rainforest, under waterfalls, as well as in the city when it's raining and I don't want to risk my DSLR.
Good camera, small and tough like the name suggests!

Summary: After hearing about Olympus cameras I had expected a little better; I have not yet had the chance to play with all of the functions this camera has to offer, but the macro settings leave a little to be desired.
Summary: I bought this camera just for Kayaking. It takes quality photos and is very simple to use. It does have limited range in distance which is a little disappointing. Overall it a good value but it will not be my final water camera. I need more zoom distance for all the scenic views.
Summary: Does what it's built to do. I bought this camera to take on a trip to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park. our itenerary included lots of hiking, kayaking and just outdoor activities in general.
Summary: Overall this camera is made to be tough and take decent pictures. There are some aspects that aren't great, but overall it works well. I use it as a field camera (I have a larger digital SLR, but when I'm out in the field, I don't like to carry it).
Summary: I had it about 30 days and have taken photos at the beach, as well as other outside locations, and also some inside shots and so far I am pleased with the camera and the photos it has produced.
