Olympus Stylus TOUGH-6010

The Stylus TOUGH-6010 is a 12-megapixel digital camera that is part of the chockproof, waterproof, and freezeproof TOUGH series. The camera supports a 6.9 cm / 2.7 inch HyperCrystal III LCD with “triple coating” that protects it against reflection, scratches, and moisture to optimal shooting on the ski slopes and under water. Some of the features on the camera include Magic Filters, 3.6x wide optical zoom, packed with Olympus opto-digital technology, Dual Image Stabilisation, Face Detection, Beauty Mode, intelligent Auto Mode (i-Auto) and Tap Control. The camera also has movie recording capability with sound (up to VGA resolution at 30fps), is compatible with xD-Picture Card and microSD card and is available in Titanium Grey, Turquoise Blue and Lava Red color.

Features

In addition to being freezeproof to -10 C, the camera is waterproof to 3 m and provides shockproof protection against drops of up to 1.5 m. The 3.6x wide optical zoom (28-102mm) facilitates group photos or close-ups of distant subjects and allows users to compose shots on its 6.9cm/2.7” HyperCrystal III LCD for in brilliant sunlight and at extreme angles (230,000 dots). The Magic Filters features modes such as Pin Hole, Pop Art, Fish-Eye, and Sketch that allows users to add effects to the image taken. The Dual Image Stabilization which provides two-fold protection, and helps to avoid image blur caused by camera shake or fast-moving subjects. It combines high ISO values with a CCD-based mechanical image stabiliser, where a built-in gyro sensor detects camera movement and adjusts the CCD accordingly; Tap Control mode which allows access even when using gloved-hands; Auto Mode which automatically adjusts camera settings to one of five recognized commonly-used scenes; Advanced Face Detection Technology which searches for faces in a composition and recognizes them as the main subject. It then automatically puts them in focus and optimally adjusts exposure to create an image that’s sharp in the right places and ideally exposed. Advanced Face Detection Technology can detect up to 16 faces. The Stylus TOUGH-6010 also features Beauty Mode which touches up the appearance of subjects even while the shot is being taken. This feature recognizes faces and automatically makes skin on the face and adjacent areas appear smoother, brighter and more youthful; and Shadow Adjustment Technology which improve exposure for pictures with dark areas via a sensor that identifies dark areas in a composition and then adjusts the exposure settings accordingly for those areas.
