Summary: my camera eventually stopped turning on at all. i was disappointed that olympus seemed to be aware that there was a reoccurring issue and they refused to warranty it for me. they wanted over $100 to repair it!! i'll never buy another olympus product again.
Excerpt: I love it!! Just what I needed for the lake house. I can take pictures on and around the water without having to worry about the camera getting wet. I love the quality of the pictures that I have taken so far. I wish it had a litte bit better zoom. I guess you can t have everything. The battery life is amazing, you can use it all day and never have to worry about finding time to charge it.
Excerpt: I purchased the Olympus Stylus Tough digital camera because I needed a really durable camera that could withstand the abuse that comes with a very active toddler. I also like the added value of the waterproof feature (since we spend a lot of time around water with said toddler). While the waterproof feature is really nice, it's really the only great feature about this camera. The Olympus Stylus Tough does not take fabulous pictures.
Olympus 6000 durable shockproof and waterproof digital camers
9 September 2012
Excerpt: This camera was purchased for my husband who is a fisherman and not too computer or electronic literate. He always seems to drop things, gets them wet or just can't figure things out. This camera was perfect for him. Waterproof to 10 feet, and I also purchased a floating attachment just in case he drops it overboard. If it should drop on the floor, it is also shockproof to 5 feet. It was a bit pricey but worth the money.
Summary: I loved the Camera. Used it for Kayaking, skiing and all general uses too. I was very happy with the picture quality except Low light w/o flash. Very well built. The camera fell off of my motorcycle in its lightly padded case onto concret at about 40 mph, I don't think it was run over. Aside from some road rash on the case have been NO issues and I have used it almost a year since. It was not in the case when I retreived it.
Pros: Strength. Durability,, Never question whether to bring it along!
Cons: Low light w/o a flash., Charging the battery. It must be removed from the camera to charg in a seperated charger.
Summary: I bought this camera for my wife to replace our aging Olympus 5060 Widezoom (she loves the 5060). I wanted a rugged camera for her since she has been known to drop electronics in bodies of water of various sizes (pools, ponds, oceans, etc). The problem is that she hates this Stylus Tough -- it's too slow to catch the ever moving kids.
Pros: •Small, •Waterproof -- fun for pool and lake shooting, but you'd better have a model that can hold still!, •Tough, •Good image quality when objects aren't moving
Cons: •SLOW!!!!!!!, •Everything about this camera is slow, even when shoot mode has been changed to Sport, •Buttons are small and unusable when wearing gloves, •Did I mention Slow!!!!!
