Summary: I wanted a camera I can bring in the water and mess around with, without being concerned that it will break. In these terms the camera is fantastic and I have not had any issues. I chose olympus because I typically get good quality photos out of the point and shoots at a good price but the pictures that come from this camera are poor quality and have horrible focus. I have messed around with the settings on the camera but the quality is still lacking.
Summary: We bought this camera as something we could easily share with our children, take snorkeling and to swim meets and not have to worry about wetness. It does a fabulous job and we have been very pleased with the results. It's the perfect camera for this price range! I do however have major issues with the software it comes with.
Summary: I took this camera as a back up for a trip to China & Thailand. My primary camera went missing in China after only three days. We had to depend on this camera for the rest of our trip. What I want to say is that it was good enough to take pictures where we needed them. It has a haze on some of the photos when there is a great contrast between light and dark. It does not take good low light photos, they end up blurry. The battery is not a winner.
Summary: Have to agree with others who question if this was worth the money. Bought it for a beach vacation when I knew I wouldn't want my "good" camera down by the sand and water. My good camera is a 7.1 MP so I was hopeful that this little camera would meet or exceed the quality of my Canon that I have had for years. Unfortunately it comes nowhere close. The autofocus is terrible...probably half of the shots were out of focus when I never have that problem with my Canon.
Summary: I bought this camera to replace my 720SW, which lasted me 4 years with no problems. The Tough 3000 is a bargain, but you get what you pay for. The image quality is poor. Having the 12MP capability is useless and just makes the images take up more space. As with the 720, there is a lot of noise when used at higher ISO settings. It still works after many hours of underwater use.
Summary: Having owned several different brands of small digital cameras, I felt the need for another that was waterproof, due to the fact that I was soon to go on a cruise and planned on taking underwater photos of marine life while snorkelling....very disappointed. Although some of the photos that I did take were very clear with underwater life, the non ability to see on the screen, both in the water and in bright sunlight, left me to attempt to take pictures on the...
Summary: Nice camera for the price - gave as Xmas present to my son, who needed to take several videos for an application to an adventure program, including skiing, climbing, and an indoor interview - this camera worked very well for him. Low battery life only problem, and camera does not accept longer lived products, a disappointment, as I had bought a couple of LI-50B batteries thinking they would fit the Stylus-3000 and have to return them for the shorter lived ones that do...
Summary: I liked the camera. it took good pics at the beach and ocean and pool. I cleaned as to manufactures recommendations. last week we went to the river. battery went dead. went to swap battery and there was water inside. I looked for dirt around the rubber, but is was clean...I liked the camera, and this was my second one, the other one did the same thing. walmart took it back as to being only three weeks old.
